The Aquabats Super Show! — Season 2 Saturday, June 1 Hub Network, 1pm ET/10am PT Art imitates life a bit this season on The Aquabats! Super Show! Maybe that’s going a bit deep for a proudly goofy show about five dudes who wear rash guards and goggles while playing ska-infused novelty songs that serve as a soundtrack for their battles with weird creatures in homages to cheesy sci-fi flicks, but there it is. When we catch up with MC Bat Commander, EagleBones Falconhawk, Crash McLarson, Jimmy the Robot and Ricky Fitness, they have just returned to Earth after being stranded in space […]

How I Met Your Mother recap: “Something New”

For an episode called “Something New,” How I Met Your Mother resorted to pretty much all its old tricks in its eighth season finale. Except, oh OK, we did get to see the mother, even if Ted hasn’t quite gotten to meet her. It starts a week before Barney and Robin’s wedding as the two of them try to have a nice dinner but instead encounter an obnoxious couple played by Casey Wilson (Happy Endings) and Keegan Michael Key (Key & Peele), who are actually billed as “Obnoxious Woman” and “Obnoxious Man.” They do obnoxious things like demand Barney and […]

Isabella Rossellini creates “Mammas” for Sundance Channel

Mammas Sunday, May 12 Sundance Channel, 5:30pm ET Usually when someone I’m interviewing excuses themselves for a minute, it can really interrupt the flow of the conversation. That extra time it takes to get back on track could lead to me missing out on some great nugget they were about to throw my way. But when it’s Isabella Rossellini, and you overhear her speaking beautiful Italian to her son, it’s just a pleasure to sit and listen. I called the actress to learn more about her new series of short films, Mammas, premiering on Sundance Channel on Mother’s Day. It […]
