ABC Family “Ravenswood” announcement has explosive social media impact

This past Tuesday, March 26, ABC Family announced that it has greenlit a one-hour dramatic spinoff series for its hit Pretty Little Liars, called Ravenswood. Ravenswood comes from Pretty Little Liars executive producers I. For the General Hospital 50th anniversary celebration, the ABC daytime drama is reprising its onetime fan favorite Nurses Ball. It was a regular series feature written into the world of the show from 1994-2001, and is a fictional charity event complete with musical performances from the characters of Port Charles, dedicated to raising HIV/AIDS awareness. At this point, History should just be able to cut and paste previous releases regarding the ratings for its hit series The Bible, as they have all ended up saying pretty much the same thing — big numbers. The Bible Episode 4, which aired March 24, again made History the No. 1 network in all of television from 8-10pm, with 10.3 million total viewers. “Bates Motel” ratings break network record with 4.6 million viewers

Another premiere, another ratings record for A&E. Bates Motel premiered last night to 4.6 million viewers, and in breaking down the demographics became the most-watched series debut among adults 18-49 and 25-54 (1.6 million). The comptemporized prequel to the Psycho films, starring Freddie Highmore as a teenage Norman Bates and Vera Farmiga as his, um, difficult mother has earned raves from critics and now audiences. Those who missed the debut episode can catch an encore presentation at 11pm ET/PT after tomorrow’s episode of Duck Dynasty (good pairing, right?). New episodes of Bates Motel premiere Mondays at 10pm ET/PT.
