BBC America’s Ripper Street Season 2 returns this Saturday, Feb. 22 at 10pm ET/PT with eight new episodes.  This season finds the Metropolitan Police’s H Division battling new evils that threaten to disrupt the delicate peace struck at the end of Season 1.  All the same characters are back, but the pairings have changed. It’s still 2-2-1, but this season, the “1” is Inspector Reid (Matthew MacFadyen, pictured). Joining the cast for Season 2 of Ripper Street is David Costabile (Breaking Bad), Damien Molony (Being Human), Joseph Malwe (Game of Thrones) and Leanne Best (Wire in the Blood). Season 2 […]

Favorite “Vikings” son: Alexander Ludwig talks about joining the History drama in Season 2

Alexander Ludwig is a young, strong, imposing-looking guy. Look no further than his role as Cato in the first Hunger Games movie for proof. But even Ludwig was nervous stepping into the big, bad world that is Vikings. The 21-year-old Vancouver native nabbed the plum role of Bjorn, the tempestuous teenage son of the mighty Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), as the History drama kicks off its second season Feb. 27. While Ludwig says he was excited to take on the project, he was nervous because not only was it his first TV series, but he was also jumping in after […]

The Walking Dead recap Season 4 episode 10 ‘Inmates’: So good to see you again!

After last week’s slow dance with Rick, Carl and Michonne, post prison collapse, the fates of the rest of The Walking Dead prison crew (plus one) were revealed on last night’s shock-and-awe episode, ‘Inmates’. And surprises came equally fast and furious. But I have to say this right out of the gate — in the case of some of the episode’s biggest reveals, a little more show and less tell, perhaps over the span of one additional expository episode, would have made for a much deeper emotional wallop, even if they will be fleshed out in future outings. Show me […]

The Walking Dead recap Season 4 episode 9: “After”

The Walking Dead Season 4 midseaon premiere, which debuted last night, is aptly titled “After” — and, as it implies, the Robert-Kirkman-penned, Greg-Nicotero-directed episode dives right into the post-prison travails of the survivors. Beginning with Rick, Carl and Michonne. • RELATED: Channel Guide talks The Walking Dead Season 4B with Greg Nicotero! “After” opens at the smoking, walker-infested remains of the prison, from which everyone has fled but Michonne. Could it that be our brave woman-warrior — who, not so long ago, could barely even tolerate Andrea’s company — is having the toughest time leaving the first home and family she […]

Keri Russell talks about The Americans Season 2

It’s a cold, wintry December day in New York, and Keri Russell has a short break between filming scenes for The Americans. Though she’s now sitting in a heated van, there’s still a slight shiver in her voice as she explains what’s in store for Season 2 of the Cold War drama, which set network ratings records for FX during its Emmy-nominated debut last year. The Americans Season 2 begins Feb. 26. “I think the main difference is last year when we started, Elizabeth wasn’t really even engaged in the marriage,” she says of her character. “It was questionable how […]

American Horror Story Coven season finale recap

In the American Horror Story Coven season finale, you’d expect things to be wrapped up with a nice little bow. It opens with a Stevie Nicks’ tune (“Seven Wonders,” to be exact, tying in with the episode title of “The Seven Wonders”) and everyone is preparing for the final tradition. Myrtle announces that instead of starting with the easiest of the Seven Wonders, they’re going to start with the most difficult, as she passes around some caviar. In the beginning it is all fun and games, until Madison’s bitch side rears its ugly head, and the result is ugly. She’s […]
