NOVA’s “Surviving Ebola” episode informative and relatively scare-free

CBS’ “48 Hours” features coverage of Oscar Pistorius verdict

This Friday’s edition of the CBS news program 48 Hours will feature coverage from when the show was in a South African courtroom this week to cover a judge’s decision on whether Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius (a.k.a. “Blade Runner,” a reference to the leg prostheses he wears as a double amputee) murdered his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, or if her death was an accident. TV legend James Garner dies at age 86

From Maverick and The Rockford Files to The Notebook, James Garner was a TV and film legend. Garner, age 86, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his Los Angeles home. As of press time the cause of death is unknown. Garner had a distinguished career in TV and film, and could easily move between light-hearted comedies to dramas.
