Dramatically titled “Miracle on the Sunset Dive,” this episode of Dateline takes a closer look at the Wisconsin plane crash that took place at about 12,000 feet. […]

The Weather Channel announces winter storm names 2013-14

Last year, The Weather Channel drew interest when it decided to begin naming winter storms, much as tropical storms and hurricanes are. So 2012-13 saw the likes of Winter Storm Orko and, notably, Nemo, talked about in the headlines and through social media. As the first national organization to name winter storms, The Weather Channel says it did so to make communications and information sharing easier, and to better alert residents to forecasts for storms that could significantly affect them. Pivot airs Occupy Wall Street documentary

Sept. 17 marks the two-year anniversary of the Occupy movement, which began with Occupy Wall Street in New York City and gradually expanded throughout the country, and the world, in a series of protests and “occupations” against income inequality. While the physical nature of the protests and the presence of protesters has largely faded over the years, the idea behind the Occupy movement seems to have stayed, even subtly, as the national discussion has turned more toward topics of income disparity, and money in politics, and we regularly hear phrases such as “the 99%” that were borne of that movement.
