If you got up early to watch the World Baseball Classic game between China and Japan on Thursday morning, then you, my friend, are hardcore. The rest of us are probably going to catch a few WBC games when it’s convenient, and this weekend should give plenty of opportunities as the tournament begins in earnest. Tiger Woods’ comeback from knee surgery starts Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championships in Tucson, Ariz. Woods will tee off vs. Australia’s Brendan Jones at 2:02pm ET on GOLF CHANNEL. GOLF CHANNEL will have coverage at 2pm ET on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday coverage switches to NBC starting at 2pm ET both days. Obviously, NBC is hoping Tiger can at least survive to play this weekend. By Ryan FOX announced that it is taking Digger, its NASCAR Gopher Cam mascot, to disturbing new levels beginning with this Sunday’s Daytona 500. The Adventures of Digger and Friends, a collaboration between FOX Sports chairman David Hill and country music star Keith Urban, will premiere during the race, with five two-minute vignettes featuring the furry characters that will be repeated throughout the NASCAR season, long after we’ve all stopped watching.
