truTV announces “Impractical Jokers” spinoff “Jokers Wild”

At the Television Critics Association (TCA) Summer Press Tour, truTV announced that it will be following up its hugely successful prank show Impractical Jokers with a new spinoff series called Jokers Wild, slated to premiere Sept. 25 at 10pm ET/PT. In a few weeks, on July 19, the Television Critics Association (TCA) will give out its annual awards to the people and shows that exemplified the best of television in this past year. The untelevised, invite-only event, hosted by Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, pictured) features categories including news and information;  youth; drama; reality; and comedy as the top TV critics in North America — who selected the nominees — honor TV’s 2013-14 season. Many members of the so-called “Cumber Collective,” “Cumberbitches” and “Cumberbabes” were out in force today, camped outside the Langham Hotel in Pasadena to await the arrival of actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who was on hand during PBS’ first day of the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour. Following the great success of its The Sound of Music Live!, starring Carrie Underwood, back in December (which brought nearly 19 million viewers to its live broadcast on Dec. 5), NBC announced today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour that it will be producing another live musical for television. TCA: FX orders Zach Galifianakis, Louis CK comedy pilot

At the Television Critics Association press tour today, FX announced it has ordered a comedy series pilot created by  Emmy® Award winning Writer/Producer Louis C.K., star of the network’s hit comedy Louie. The comedy is the first project to come from FX Productions’ new overall deal with Louis C.K. and his  production company Pig Newton. A new season of Louie premieres in May.
