It’s New! And It Ain’t Reality! It’s Almost Time To “Break Bad.”

I am excited about Breaking Bad. Really excited. Like, people-are-picking-on-me excited. And I want you to promise me you will watch it. Why? Well, click on “online exclusives” and read all about it … or, hell, just tell me who you are. X-Files fans, watch it because it’s from the dazzlingly imaginative mind of Vince Gilligan. You know you’ve been waiting… Mad Men fans, watch it because it’s on AMC … and it’s every bit as brave and cool and sly. Malcolm In The Middle fans … Cranston’s back. And so are his underpants. Deadwood fans, Anna Gunn. No corset […]

Do You Like “Gladiator” Shows?

Well, if ya do, you’re not the only one! NBC’s revived American Gladiators premiered Sunday with this season’s highest adult 18-49 rating for any new series premiere, and was the Peacock’s top new series debut since Heroes back in 2006, and led the network to its highest non-sports rating during the Sunday 9-11pm ET time period in three years. “We’re extremely excited by the response to American Gladiators,” said John Wallace, president of NBC Local Media Division, in perhaps an understatement. The reason the Local Media president is now excited about the show too is that NBC plans to pummel […]

ESPN’s Best Of “This Is SportsCenter” Special

ESPN’s SportsCenter is, at times, difficult to watch, but the promos in the famous “This Is SportsCenter” campaign rarely disappoint (one of our favorites is above). On Dec. 11 at 8pm ET, ESPN airs a one-hour special hosted by Karl Ravech chronicling ESPN’s ad campaign, which began in 1995 and features mini mockumentaries that capture comical moments at ESPN’s Bristol campus when SportsCenter anchors interact with athletes, celebrities and mascots. Dog The Bounty Hunter: The Dog Gets Muzzled.

I’m about the biggest fan of Dog The Bounty Hunter, ever. Well I was, anyway. I mean, I still love the show and what now appears to be the character Duane Chapman played when the cameras were rolling. But the man, himself? I’m not sure what to think. For Dog’s detractors, it seems pretty simple: the man is a red-neck, grammar-be-damned, dictatorial racist. Period. Maybe you have it in you to feel for him a little that it was his own son who sold a private conversation for personal gain. Possibly for love. Possibly because he was denied a spot […]

Ellen and Iggy: You’ve Got E-Mail

Okay, I forget exactly what day we’re on in IggyGate (and hey, Us Magazine, I called it that first, man, so nerny, nerny on you). But just as things were starting to die down a little, and life in Ellenville was getting back to dancing and presents, it looks like the über-sleuths of The Smoking Gun have unearthed a pretty authentic-looking email exchange betwixt all parties involved. And it ain’t looking good for E & P’s version of events. Or for spelling and grammar, in the case of the scorned hairdresser. Meanwhile, various media outlets are rumbling that the real […]
