Legendary CBS Newsman Morley Safer Dies at 84

Just a week after retiring from 60 Minutes following 46 seasons reporting for the iconic news program, equally legendary newsman Morley Safer has passed away today at age 84, CBS announced. Safer reportedly died in his Manhattan home; no cause of death has been announced at this time. Safer had been in declining health when he announced his retirement. Thursday, ahead of its annual presentation to advertisers, The CW released its 2016-2017 fall schedule. The decade-old network will premiere two new series this fall, with another joining the lineup in midseason. At its upfront presentation in New York City on Wednesday, CBS announced its new shows and lineup for the 2016-17 fall TV season.
