E! announced today that its late-night talk show Chelsea Lately, hosted by Chelsea Handler, will end its seven-year run this summer, with the one-hour series finale airing live Aug. 26 at 11pm ET/PT. Danny McBride, star of the hit HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down, will return to the network in a new comedy series called Vice Principals, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming. “Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can’t get enough of,” said Lombardo in a release. “The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible.” As Lombardo referenced, Vice Principals will be set at a high school, telling the story of the people who “almost run it” — the vice principals.
