Today, the ABC 2014-15 primetime schedule was announced during the network’s annual upfront presentation. “Our schedule reflects a judicious mix of boldness and stability,” said Paul Lee, president of ABC Entertainment Group, in a release. Among the boldness is moving the smash-hit Scandal up one hour, to 9pm ET on Thursdays, to accommodate a new show from Shonda Rhimes — How to Get Away with Murder — at 10pm. At a conference call this morning announcing FOX’s 2014-15 programming schedule, Fox Broadcasting Company chairman of entertainment Kevin Reilly (pictured) said that the network is “eventizing” its entertainment slate. This seems to apply to both closed-ended, actual event series such as Gracepoint (based on the British series Broadchurch), coming this fall, along with midseason’s Wayward Pines, from M. Night Shyamalan, as well as regular series that will be brought out with a bang, like the network’s hyped reality series Utopia, and the much-buzzed-about Batman prequel Gotham.
