Media responsible for anointing, crucifying Tim Tebow

Can we please call a timeout on all of the Tim Tebow coverage?  Seriously, has there ever been a more over-publicized figure in all of sports? What makes him different from almost every other athlete who is covered ad nauseam on ESPN and every other medium, though, is that he really did nothing wrong to warrant this amount of good or bad coverage. He didn’t drink and drive; he […]

Napoli vs Chelsea in Champions League, FA Cup and more soccer on tv

Soccer News of the Week: * AC Milan firmly walloped Arsenal in Champions League play on Wednesday, defeating the Premier League side 4-0. Arsenal are close to an early exit from the tournament – they’ll need to pull off a similar rout of their own in their second Round of 16 match against AC Milan on March 6. This has been a crap year for the English teams in the CL. Both Manchester City and Manchester United failed to make it out of the Group Stage. Chelsea are now the EPL’s best hope for European glory. The Blues face Napoli […]

ESPN’s Bracketbusters showcases potential NCAA Tournament Cinderellas

We’ve all had our NCAA Tournament pools shattered by some team we’ve underestimated simply because we never saw them play. Raise your hand if you had George Mason knocking off UConn in 2006, or Siena upending Vanderbilt in 2008, or Murray State toppling Vanderbilt in 2010, or VCU taking down Kansas last year. Those winning teams are all deemed mid-majors due to not playing in the BCS conferences, but the reality nowadays is there really isn’t a lot of distance between the power leagues (such as the ACC, Big East, SEC and Big 12) and the mid-majors from leagues like […]

ESPN makes right call in benching Ron Jaworski on “Monday Night Football”

Click here to get a FREE printable 2012 NFL TV Schedule! I really enjoyed watching Ron Jaworski when he played quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. I have always appreciated his in-depth film breakdown and expert commentary on various ESPN studio shows. But I couldn’t stand him on Monday Night Football, and I couldn’t be happier that he has been removed from the broadcast. There’s no analyst in the industry who can break down film like “Jaws.” He has this rare ability to address the football expert and novice simultaneously without speaking up to one or talking down to the other. […]
