This the new State Farm Champions Classic college basketball event at New York City’s Madison Square Garden is the highlight of the annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU Nov. 15. Traditional powerhouses Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and Michigan State will participate in the Champions Classic through 2013. Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., is the site of Thoroughbred racing’s season-ending Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the richest two days in sports with more than $26 million in purses. Last year’s event was one for the ages, with Blame stunning previously undefeated favorite Zenyatta in a photo finish at the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic. ESPN’s “The Real Rocky” looks at boxer Chuck Wepner

By Ryan Berenz Follow @ChannelGuideRAB ESPN’s fall documentary series continues on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 8pm ET, with “The Real Rocky,” looking at “The Bayonne Bleeder” Chuck Wepner, a former New Jersey state heavyweight boxing champion, who fought the likes of George Foreman, Sonny Liston and Muhammad Ali. But Wepner’s claim to fame, so he says, is that he was the inspiration for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky character. But Wepner’s career took a bizarre turn as he went on to fight wrestling legend Andre the Giant and even boxed a bear.
