Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hello I’m not sure how to do this. My son was killed in1996 and to this day I don’t know what really happened. The police say is was suicide others say his best friend did it (he was shot in the head) I just need to know that he is ok and I miss him so much..

Many years ago I lost a young son in a drowning accident. The thing that I want to ask you is that for about 2 months prior to his death, I kept getting images put in my head of seeing my son in the water. I had about 6 or 7 of these premonitions. What I am wondering is who was sending me these images? Also were these images to be a warning to me to be watchful to prevent his accident, or were they more of a buffer of what was going to happen to give me some type of preparation? I have been wondering about this for 25 years. Is it too late to solve this mystery?

Hello my name is tammy i watch your show faithfully i would like to know if my mom ever forgave me we werent on good terms when she passed she passed while in the hospital on suport i had just left the hospital and was telling her goodnight threw the phone my brother had put by her hear and she passed while i was on the phone i dont know if she didn wana hear from me or if the phone messed with the machines or if it had anything to do with me I live with alot of Questions and would love to get some sort of peice of mind Look forward to hearing from you

Hi Theresa, I am so sorry to impose on you,I have been looking for my dog Gypsy for 2 years. On May 24th. 2010 the wind blow the gate open even with an iron lock and two gates. We lost her becuase she is so scared of wind and we never saw her again. Now I have her on all the rescue organisations and also on craigelist, amber alert for pets, every day since she is missing I have her in the local paper, also all the townes around us. We have a $ 2.000.00 reward out. We had a woman call and tell me she found her and gave her away she will not tell us whom she gave her to. Now I keep on locking for her every day and have flyers all over town, Vet’s and anyone you can think about. I just need to know if she is still alive or someone killed her! If you can help that would be so wonderful. I am also a Medium but I can not do anything for myself because I put my feelings into it.
