Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

This was an update to what TLC previously provided (Longislandmedium@gmail.com). That email address we have tried and have never gotten a response. Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Needless to say it hasn’t been easy for my mom and I but my mom worked hard to raise me right and well. I have had death in my family and a heartbreaking will dispute battle for 18months.Rich Brother plotted against me, I am mobility disabled, poor as a church mouse,hard to pay rent or medicines 9 disabilites.my body has one thing after another breaking down. I would take anything you would offer for insight. Pictures are coming off my wall, lights are flickering, noise after noise in my apt.I live alone and have severe illness. The death was hidden from me in England.I was left out of all legacy, funeral and not allowed to phone my family home. My natural mother passed 1990..I feel my dad is trying to reach me, as he was very ill with dementia and in spirit he may see clearly the damge he caused. The more I have battled with lawyers, the sicker I haver become.I am not ready to die, but feel this way.

i have been watching your show for awhile. i’ve beeen to mediums before but you seem to be the best one i’ve watched. i have lost almost all of my family starting with my father when i was 4 years old and from then on i have lost my brother, sister mother all my grandparents, aunts and uncles . i tried to take care of my mother as best i could but never thought it was enough. it has bothered me since her death. will you be coming to florida anytime soon? i’d really like to go to one of your meetings. please reply

Hi Theresa….My sister and I have been watching you for a couple of weeks now and find that you are truly amazing at what you do. You help people and create the peace they are looking for. We lost our mother 10yrs ago and find signs from her all the time. Signs that she is trying to reach us and signs that she wants us to know she is there….is there anything you can tell us about her or does she see my daughter and know that I have had a child….so many questions and so much hurt.
