Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I am intrigued with your ability. I lost my husband, my best friend and the love of my life last year suddenly. He is the first person I ever had in my life that I felt safe with. I didn’t have that growing up. I first met him when I was 19 and we were together for over 30 years. I feel physical pain I miss him so much. I don’t have family support and I think my friends are amazed I’m not “over this”. We did everything together and he made me laugh so hard every day. He was my greatest cheerleader with anything I did, always there making me believe in myself when I couldn’t see my way to do it. The loss is so incredible I had thoughts of suicide for the first 6 months. Life does not have the same meaning without him in it. There is such an empty hole inside me. I do what I need to do every day and come home. I need to know if he is OK. Was he scared when he passed? Is he still here with me? My heart is so broken I can barely function every day. Why did God take away the one person I ever had in my life, when other people have family all around them? He was all I had. Please help me.

Amazed to say the least. I am so depressed,and cant seem to go on. I found my husband UNrsponsive in our bedroom a month ago 8/14/11 and i have a daughter, I need to know PLEASE if he is okay,and if he is around me,and my daughter .i have had no signs,but my daughter has.

My beautiful daughter “died” of breast cancer 3 years ago and I have had long and effective hospice counseling so I am not doing poorly. One question remains between me and my girl and I yearn to have it answered by her through you or any true medium. I’m sure the answer wil come without my noting it here, as I powerfully believe she has not ceased to exist, except physically. By the way, her precious ashes have been scattered throughout the earth, as I’m so sure she appreciates, from India to the Galapagos Islands and further. Thank you for being there.

(We know it’s through Christ, that we find it,but we have “blocks” that keep us from getting to that place with him and what he wants for us).You are a gift he sends to remove some of these barriers by bringing messages of closure.
