Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

im 16 years old and i live in arizona, my mother and i are very interested in your show and work that you do.
my mother went to a medium when she was younger and got the most accurate reading. during many different conversation we have discussed seeing a medium.. but never followed through because of all the scam artists in the world.

hi theresa my husband passed away 9years ago he was only 23. we were in a really bad car accedent and two days before our son turned 2years old.well though out the years my son always said he hears things in the house now he’s 10.and he’s been talking a lot more about hearing and now seeing things, now he dont want to sleep in his room with the lights off. and he’seems like always waiting for the next thing to happend.could it be his dad? we need help to understand….and move foward…

I have lost my mother, father, two brothers and a niece. I miss them terribly. I have 8 yr old twin daughters, one of which has had two kidney transplants and muliple surgeries. All these things make me realize how short and valuable life is. I always feel that my mother has been looking over my girls, keeping them safe. I would love the chance to hear from her again.I have so much guilt over her passing and I need to know that she forgives me.I would love to have a meeting with you.
My mom is 80 her and my father were still holding hands. He passed away very fast with cancer we only knew a week before. His last days he was very ugly with my mom she is hurt and upset don’t understand. Her everyday begins with the same question what did I do.
