Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

i watched u r show once and i like the way u do u groups, that is same way i do. i call them spiritual gatherings, as we live in small town they accept that wording easier. i just wanted to say a comment; i was told by other gifted people i am can go further in doing what i do. i am moving to bigger city and i know i will grow in this area. u have alot of energy and i get tried at times doing it, i use my accuse i am getting up in age. would be nice to meet u some day. i never every believed my 2 husbands and stepson r gone, they r physical but here strong in spirit. it is awesome to see on tv on what i do and believe. course it is down the states. canada is not there yet.

I recently lost my only girl cousin who was 17 due to a car accident and a best friend who was 13 to sesures and other problems all within a 4 month time peroid. I need to know why they left me so close in time. I need to know why my cousin died that night of her chorus concert. I need to know why it’s still a mystery on why she wrecked her car. I LOVE your show!!! It makes me cry every single episode. My husband Joe is from Long Island also. We moved to South Carolina recently so it is almost impossible for me to make a face to face appointment with you, however, I have a few questions. My sister Carol Ann was taken from us 6 years ago at 43 years of age. She lived in the Middle East. The cause of her death is unknown to us–I would love to know exactly how she died. She left behind 3 young children and a husband. It eats away at me every day that I will never know how she passed. She was a very healthy young woman. Hope you can help me out.
My mother also died of cancer 4 months after my sister in 2005 (age 67). I regret to this day that I was away on a business trip when she passed. Is she mad at me for not being there for her passing. I feel like I could never forgive myself for leaving her while she was so ill. Are my Sister and Mom together? Are they happy? I appreciate your help.

I have been watching your show since you first aired and it seems that every episode that i watch, each time you freak me out with your abilities. I dont think there hasnt been one that you havent made me cry about yet , its so overwhelming how someone like you can keep connected with someone that we can never see or touch or even hear anymore and somehow here you come as an angel and make it all possible to connect with those we thought we could never be able to contact in any way possible…. and you can make that special contact which makes you a very special person. Today is my grandfather`s birthday. its been close to 20 years since he`s passed, but in my mind i have never been able to accpet the fact that he is relly gone. i haven`t even been able to go and visit his tombstone due to the fact of not wanting to confirm his departure, so instead i speak to him in my mind and hope he hears me.
Its also now 4 years since my nephew past and its hard not seeing him come through the door and bugging ” his corky zia ” as he would always call me. I miss him so so much, my husband and my kids miss him very very much and talk about him all the time. i had to explain to my son that was 4 years old at the time that his favorite cousin got a new job as a chauffer for the angels in the sky. My nephew was a car fanatic and so has my son become one also. I speak to him everyday wondering and hoping that he hears me.
Everytime i think of that horrible night i think of it as a scary movie that i paused and never pressed play to continue ..
So much has happened in the last 4 years and i wish there would be a way to reach out to him. its like he went to his Cuba vacation and hasn`t come back home yet. 🙁

Having booked and sat with Theresa numerous times. The TWO year wait is well worth it. I have sat with a few.. but she is BY FAR the best. She is down to earth.. she doesnt waste anybody’s time/. and she ( or the spirits ) are accurate and not vague. She is also hilarious. Do you ever work on missing children cases? We have a missing boy here in Portland, Oregon who has been missing for over 1 year now. He disappeared after being taken to school. I don’t know how his parents go on day by day. There continue to be searches for his body, but no luck. It would be such comfort for his parents to know what happened to him and where he can be found.

I am 43 years old and I lost my only sister 6 years ago, If she alive she will be 45 years old.
she left her daugther since she was 18 months old. My sister has postpustum depression after has her baby and she committed sueside.
My question is ,she has no control herself when she did suecide, will she know herself after life? Will she still remember her daughter? Because I always tell her daugther ” your mom is watching you all the time, she love you, be with you forever.”
I always question myself all the time because she not herself when she die. Will be possible to channel with her? I know your appointment will be very long time. At least I have answer for me and feeling good to tell her dougther Your mom with you
