Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hi, Teresa my is Jennifer my fathers mother died before he can ever meet her his adopted family told him his mom died after he was born and his father walked off and for some strange reason I feel as if theres more and they wont tell us and I feel as if my dad sufers because of it and it hurts me dearly … And I’ve been in situations as well as my sisters and for some strange reason I feel she protects us and that she gets us out of these situation and I just feel that I need to conect with her just to make things clear for us my dads life has not ever been normal because of this and alot of strange and spiritual things happens to us and we just need to know why this happens and if it has any conection to her……..

I won’t lie to you, I am a sceptic. However, some of the things you do I cannot explain. I lost a son 30 years ago and I “need” your help. This has been hanging over me and I believe I have lost one marriage over it already. I don’t want to loose another over this. Hi Theresa! I have always watched your shows and it just amazes me. I lost my brother when he was 11 which was about 5 years ago and it’s my step dads son and he really hasn’t been the same he never speaks of it at all and I would love for him to connect with him and now he has a lil brother who is just like him and talks about him all the time and he was only one when he had passed, it was so tragic. I miss him so much it hurts and I really want to hear him one more time. That means so much to me and I know it would to my little brother and his dad.

I watch your show all the time….I just wanted to share my story with you. My sister passed away 5 months ago. I got to talk to her the day before she crossed over. I made her promise to come back and let me know she was OK. Shortly after she passed the next day, she paid me a visit. She let me know she was there through my dog Honey. She touched Honey and she nearly jumped off the bed. I knew s\Viola was there becuse Honey was staring at something and her ears where perked as if she where listening to some one. This happened a few times that day. It was a wonderful feeling knowing she was OK. I still feel her sometimes .I also feel my Mother around me. It is very comforting. May the Blessings be . Pauline
Hello Thersea I was wondering if you could come over to my house so I could contact my grandfather. He had cancer and died when I was 3 years of age, I am 15 years old now and cannot shake the feeling he is nearby. His name is Ron Buckley. My mother and I have been having dreams at night with him in it as if he was trying to contact us. I really want to see my Papa again so I know that he is okay and he knows how we are. It would mean a lot if you were to come to Earling, Iowa at 105 Main Street, I really miss him and I cannot remember what his voice sounds like or anything.
