Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I totally believe in what you do, I am also a fan of John Edwards. I have see so called Mediums, on some tv shows . But they seem to have the people ask questions and they can answer what ever they want . My Father and Mother have both passed away and I have such a strong belief that there is an afterlife , there are a couple of things that my Father agreed to that only Him and I know . I ask him to come threw all the time , but I have no luck. Once while I was staying with a friend and her cat had passed , I was in the room where he died , I was laying on the bed and I honestly felt something it started touching my leg and moved up my side went around my head I felt my hair move , I came out of the room my friend said I looked as white as a ghost , I told her what I felt and she said that her cat Spice died in that room, I am convinced . That life does goes on after death . I would just like to know my parents are together and waiting for me :

I’m not sure why I’m trying this… I watch your show and just envy some people. I am the second of 5 children. Our family is very close.. many children between us… This past year and 1/2 have just destroyed many of us… I/we are devastated by a loss.. would love to hear from above to see if all is well…
Just know I think you are amazing.. and I do believe..can’t say that about some of my siblings.. hahaha Who knows what will happen…

I have had many people pass in my lifetime. I myself, have had a fair share of personal experiences. I am recently in remission from having advanced stage brain cancer. Through the treatments & healing process & truly saw the what I also call the light & spirit guides. My question to you is that with all the those whom have passed in my life, I cannot determine, who is leaving me the specific messages. I see & feel certain things everyday. I see signs within my home. I know that I am guided, have visions, have the lucid dreaming, etc. However, with this I do become confused on occasion, as I would like a bit of outside guidance to assist in who is with me daily. I am aware of how busy you are…so, I am also aware that a response to this email will probably not be immediate.

What a wonderful gift you have, communicating with the other side has always fascinated me. My son passed March 19, 2003, from a gun shot to the head. It happened in our home and GOD closed my ears that night, I heard nothing. It was a very suspicious death, but the police messed up the crime scene, so I will never know really how he died. They just said “suicide” and they left. Too many unanswered questions about the crime scene, didn’t add up. I believe to this day someone took his life……please…….I need this closure!! I need Help. I have been thru hell the last 4 years, I have lost 4 people I love, 4 years ago my step son, Sam 32 was kill in in an accidnt. My husband Jim passed away 3 years ago, and my Mother passed away 21 days after my husband, I don’t feel like I have been able to grieve for them, than a year ago my step son Shannon, passed away.
My daughter now has ansity attacks, and major mood swings, she can’t handel the losses…and neither of us know how to deal with the loss, I feel like when Jim passed I didn’t have time to grieve or say goodby, because I lost my mother so soon after… Please, let me know if my love ones are alright.

Hi Theresa My name is Pennie I watch your show and I am a believer. I lost my sister 13 yrs ago and I still can’t move on. I’ve never been able to grieve because I immediatly stepped in and took care of her family. I did this because the rest of my family turned their backs on her family. She was the glue that held our family together. I don’t think she ever knew that she was my hero. Recently we lost my nephew her son. I am in so much pain I need closure.
