Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

My husband passed away suddenly and unexpectdly at the age of 58. I am now a 49 yqar old widow.

My mom died when I was 4 and my grandpa the next day my grandma died in January and my cousin did too I really miss them and want closer but I live in mn
My brother was murdered and we the family want to know who did this to him, to this day we are still waiting for court to the person who they think is the killer but there have been speculations if it was him and this happened Feb. 28, 2010. Since the incident both my parents have past and and we know they took this very hard and we know this has caused the earlier death to both. I have cancer and I am 73. I dont know how I will be accepted by my parents when I past. I promised I wouldnt put them in a nursing home at the end. But I did. I tried to keep them out of the nursing home as long as I could. Also I had a mental disable son that I did exercises with him for 17 years til he died. What does he think of me? I love your show . Your are awesome . I lost my mom three years ago On March 15, 2010 at 11:20 AM and my dad just recently passed away September 14, 2012 at 10:50 AM . I have been going through so much w my parents passing and I’m living in the house that I grew up since I was 8 years old . I also had to put my dog ( Princess) down 8 months after my mom died in 2010 ( November 19, 2010) . I want to know if there are messages from my parents cuz I also lost my job after my dad died .
