Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Seven yrs ago my husband took his life, i walked in on it, he wouldn’t tell me why. My daughter was pregnant with her first child, she now has 3, she asks me all the time ”do you think dad is proud of me?” what would dad think of my children?. It breaks my heart that I can give her the answers that she needs. We both need closure. I can’t seem to go on with my life I always feel something missing.I’ve mourned for 7yrs its time for me to find someone to share my life with but I need to close this chapter in my life, please help us. Theresa. I lost my mom in Feb. of 2011. It was very sudden and unexpected. I have an 8yr old daughter that is still taking it very hard. We both need any kind of closure we can get. If not for me, at least for her. Thank you. Big fan of your show.
Hey Theresa my family was recently hit with a horrible death of.my dad in.2012. This was totally unexpected and have nonclue what happened even design are iffy. miss him terribly and just want to talk to.him make sure he is ok and if he can tell us possibly what happened and have some answers thanks much 🙂 Torn in Texas 🙁

Theresa, My husband is a full blown fan of yours and is a full believer of mediums and ghost issues…he has had a trubbled childhood of sorts and struggled over his liftime with some guilt and worry . He is now 60 yrs old and all he talks about is if he could talk or get a reading for clarity. How would we get on a list ? or do you even travel to Oklahoma , good ole country boy territory. He is a very stong man, so when he first started talking about this I actually thought he was kidding. Your help would be greaatly appreciated .

Hi Teresa I live in a small village Port McNicoll Ontario Canada I have never spoke to a medium or psychic but have wanted to – My dad died in 2002 and before his death we had a falling out saying how he was disappointed in me, he just was really nasty I still haven’t gotten over this fight we had and we never met eye to eye – I got to the point of hating him and have never forgiven him for the way he treated me, my mom and my brothers, we do miss him but it is really hard to miss someone who didn’t care about you, our family is falling apart alot has went on since his death I just want some closure for our family and myself is there any way you could help me get some peace of mind I know I could never get to where you are I am a single mom of 2 kids and not alot of money my daughter is a diabetic like my father was and has had other health issues Thanks
hello, Theresa my grandson is 3yrs old since he was born he would stare or point at different spots in the house and cry. when he started talking he would say he doesn’t like the ghost in my house but the ghost in his house r nice and they play with him. his mother my daughter use to play with my grandfather who she never meet. is it possible my grandson really see them. My mom pasted away at a nursing home not far from our home ,her last words were I love you, I said jokingly , you mean Ron? (who is my husband) I feel terrible for saying that. I feel you are able to feel my energy at this very moment. I’ve been having very unexplainable dreams of people who have passed away. They are people who I’ve seen in my life. But have never talked to them. I’ve also been having dreams of my grandparents…but I feel at peace with that. I’ve been searching within my native roots to what these dreams mean.
