Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hello my dad was murdered years ago and his brother took me and my 5 siblings in his home. My uncle send me and my sister’s away for a couple of years because he couldn’t deal with the responsibility . We been trew alot but are still strong and have comed along way. Hello i lost my daughter january 14 2013 of mennighitis she was only 24 years old and she left a 4 year old and a 10 month old behind. The father of the children will not let me see them as we never did get a long as he is a drug user. My daughter and i and the children were together every single day as he was not around. I guess he was just was hoping she would die and have the children to him self. They lived common law and it breaks my heart that i can not see my grand children. My family went to see a medium as i don’t beleive in any of them they are all fake, the medium told them that she was still on earth she has not crossed over yet due to what her common law was doing to me and that it was her destiny to die. My biggest problem is that she was misdiagnosed at the emergency and she died three days later. My heart is broken into a million pieces i miss her so much and i don’t know if i can live with out her.

My name is Joanne and I lost my son Blair Jonathan, (BJ) on 11/06/2009. Bj got sick in County jail serving 4 months. He never received timely or proper medical treatment. His condition never showed any signs of improvement, only continued to worsen until the day he died. I have been working on a Wrongful Death/Failure to summon Medical Care against both the County of San Bernardino and the County of Riverside for nearly 3 years. The Attorney’s I paid $8,000 to represent me left the case stating they needed more money to proceed any further. Therefore, I have been “In Pro Per” for over a year and have gotten further than any legal professional a sought to help me. I know you get an overwellming amount of e-mail, but this case has made me very sick. I just need to know about BJ and if I can be reassured that I will be with him again when I die. BJ’s younger sister is having a really hard time as well. She cries alot and is always worried something is going to happen to me. Is there anyway you could just send a short statement to reassure us. I see BJ’s face in every full moon. I believe he is with us but when you feel so bad it would help so much to her something comforting. I have been on a self distructive course for somethime now and I am supose to go the hospital for help this weekend, I drink alot everyday, all day. The stress that this court case has caused my head to shake, espeically if I get stressed about something. I there is anything you can do to help me and my family, Please!!!!!!!
