Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

hi my husband past away july 3 of last year and my grandfather sept i would love to get a reading from u for my grandmother and I. Its been hard for the both of us. I have to boys and my husband had tree children of his own im 26 and he was only 27. my grandfather past fast and out of the blue 2 mos after.
I know there are folks with worse situations. I really need to hear from my parents. I am so lonely. Sure folks have it worse….but Im kinda stuck. I watch your show and hope the messages apply to me.

I get my T.V. from Blue Ridge Cable, which was not on the form, so I mark other, and something went wrong, when I sent the form to you. Dear Theresa: I have been worried about alot of things. I worry about my family members that have past wondering if they are happy where they are and if they look over us. The one thing that i worry about the most is my daughter’s friend (Alaya). My daughter tells me about ghost encounters her friend has. Don’t get me wrong these spirits are friendly but it freaks them out. My daughter’s friend (age 18 now) lost her mom about 3 yrs ago,but these spirits have been around before her mom died. My daugher told me that her friends mom had these experiences year ago. Please let me know if this is normal that we are not crazy, that these spirits are guardian angels and not evil. I would love for you to meet my daughter’s friend to let her know that she is protected weather it’s her mom or a guardian angel looking over her and her brothers. Please reply back.
