Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I need your help. i am the great grand daughter and daughter of a very spiritual and psychic family. i am able to feel spirits and see figures but am not able to communicate or quite understand their presence here. i can feel if it is male or female but don’t know how i feel it. i have premonitions in my dreams constantly which usually always, is some shape or fashion, come true or happen on real life. i want to understand how to use this gift the proper way and was wondering if maybe you could provide some information on how to do so. My mom lost her father when she was pregnant with me.and everyone says to this day that the.way I am I remind them of him. He died.without.being able to say goodbye to her or her family…I believe they all need that closure. He.was my moms favorite person in the world. I recently found a journal of my moms that he had left behind and it really shows.her love for.him. She is presently struggling with addiction and I feel like hearing from her father.is going to be the only thing to keep her alive. Please help my family because.everyone is.going to loose my mom.
Hi theresa my name is kristin. My husband and I have recently been talked to by someone like yourself. My husband tom was working on an older couples house around where we live and she came to him out of no where and was tellig him things about his grandparents who have crossed over and them trying to tell him something. He has been working for a buisiness for 11 years and he is 27 and has wanted to start his own business for a very long time and hasn’t had the courage to do so. Hello, how are you! The spirit world does not surprise me what so ever at all. As i get older I see things more and more because I am no longer afraid of it. I am from Putnam county NY and I lost my grandmother 12 years ago. I know she is around me all the time lookimg out for my well being because before she left I asked her to do so. My grandmother and i will always be bonded. i just need to know other things? I have been watching you for a long time now and I pray that someday I will somehow get to meet you. I so want to connect with my baby girl that I lost 50 years ago. She was only 8 months old and died in a fall. I have never been able to find peace with it my heart is so broken. I loved her so much. I just know she would come threw to you. both of our parents passed when we were very young. my brother and i felt like orphans. I have reasearched and read soooo many things on ways that i could communicate with them.you say they are around us and all we need to do is talk to them.but how would i know. we are older now, but the emptiness is still there.every day i used to wonder who would i be, where would i be had we gotten the chance to know them.
