Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Hi Theresa, Have you ever seen spirits in a photograph? Our son every Christmas Eve had a bonfire . He passed away December 19, 2000. Since he had this Christmas tradition, all of our family got together & had a big bonfire for him & burned all his heart medications he had been taking.Our two young grandsons were there & just before dark, my husband took a picture of them sitting at the picnic table by the bonrfire.When the photos came back, it showed not only our two grandsons but also two clear faces ( apparitions ) side by side , under the picnic table! One was our son’s face & the other was his Great Grandfather ( my husbands Grandfather ).We had the photo enlarged into an 8×10 and we were surprised to see other faces of spirits in the picture. We have constantly felt his presence & have had so many things that have happened, I started writing them down . On January 1, 2002, our son came through in another photograph!We live in the southeastern part of Louisiana & had not had snow since January 1982! My husband took pictures of the snow & one of the photos was of our son’s truck. When the photos came back, there’s an image (apparition) of our sons face, looking out the side window of his truck! These photographs provide comfort & reassurance everyday to us, our family & everyone that sees them , that the spirit does survive after death!We will never get over the loss of our son but the unconditional love we have for each other extends beyond death! Our love is everlasting & will never die! We thank God everyday for the 32 years we had with him & will continue to appreciate & validate the many signs & messages we receive from him!

My father passed away 2 yrs ago,
Back in the 50th my parents went thru a very bitter divorce. that included doing ever things to hurt each and encluding their children, to make this short iI never saw my father since 1961, I try several times to contact him, but he never would answers my letters or calls.
My questions is do you think that he would go thru you and give me somewhat an answers of why he abandoned his own children

I’m very concerned about my son. He started talking to my deceased grandmother by age 2 and now, at 27, the spirits that come to him have got him so rattled, he never sleeps. He always has dark circles under his eyes because ‘they’ don’t let him sleep. There’s been an old woman who watches him, a little boy who stands near his bed, poking at him until he wakes up and then the ‘dark’ man who shows up pretty much every night. These are just the most recent ones. He also constantly sees shadows, movement, doors opening & closing…the list goes on and on. We even used the sage for a cleansing after the living room furniture was overturned. Things slowed down for a little while but the ‘dark’ man is always near. I don’t know what to do or how to help him.
