Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Love watching this show. Really really wish u could come to Texas. Even to visits my family. We had a few people loved ones pass away an are family is breaking apart really wish wish so much you can come to Lubbock Texas.
I lost my kids father about 7 yrs ago and I’ve struggled with this ever dince .my two boys have also had a lot of trouble with this as well. we really need closer.i i believe n what you do and would love a chance to meet and talk with you

Hi Teresa I watch your show I lost my father unexpected in November 2006 he was doing his favorite hobbie of hunting and he was drinking a little much and went back to the camper and it was a space heater he fell on the space heater and it set him on fire I was not able to say good bye properly he was cremated and I never was able to say good bye I just want to be able to say daddy I will always be your baby girl.one last time

Multiple dealths – husband the day before my daughter 5th bday and our unborn daughter wh0 was born 4 wks later – a long time ago – my best friends my parents overseas a year or so apart – why where are they and how do I go on disconnect wth my girls as we never dealth with any of this.

Dear Theresa, both of my grand parents have past years ago in the philippines, while im here in the U.S. one day i got a call that my grandma was bedridden and on her last breath, I tried to come back home right away, but I couldn’t cause of work situation, and I missed her passing. I wanted to leave my work so bad, and was so upset at them. Im writing to you If you could help me connect with them, I want to tell them sorry for not being there for them on their last day, and thank them for all good things they’ve done for me. They raised me from a little boy,and raised as their own. Their very dear to me, miss them very much and think of them all the time.
