Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I sent Teresa an e-mail quite some time ago regarding a reading from her. My brother and I would both like to come to her. I don’t want to release too much information on this but we have an issue that has been going for far too long and we need help with it. From what I have seen and heard on the show, I believe that she can give us answers and help us with this. We would come to New Jersey for the reading if we can get an appointment to do so. im doing this for my grandfather and my great grandmother I am 12 years old. I cry everyday just waiting for a sign that my two family members are ok the day my grandmother died I just couldn’t believe it I cried 4 days straight I would walk around the house crying I had no memories of her she died right next to me in her bedroom …….My there are so many thing I could say about my grandfather but im gonna say them all the day my grandfather died I tried to kill myself the morning my mom came into my room sat down on my bed woke me up and said that he died I broke out in tears while my mom was getting the news that he had past three songs came on that made her cry the songs were “see you again” “i wont give up” and say something im giving up on you” I was right next to my mom I just herd the crying through the phone of my grandmother as soon as my mom hung up I ran upstairs and called my grandmother to see is she was ok I just cant believe that they are gone …………………………..to every single one on this planet that has lost a loved one im so so so so so srry for your los

Hello Teresa Im doing this for my sister her youngest .son was found in a motel after he got home from prison.He had stopped by to see her before he left for the motel .They said he died from an overdose but I really think he was killed over some things that happened in his passed.The next day he was suppose to meet his councilor to set up a meeting to help him get in rehab to start going back to school to be a drug councilor. But there was never a write up in the paper or on the news we really think this was a coverup My sisters daughter went and claimed the body and went and got the autopsy report but never gave my sister the whole report she kept it and gave my sister what she thought she needed it ,But I do wish you can help her she thinks about her son everyday not knowing what really happened to him . We think he was murdered over some drug bust that had gone wrong I wont say he wasn’t involved in a few things but to be murdered and locked in a motel room until the maid came in wasn’t right. there was just to much info. that wasn’t true when they found him so could you please help us in solving this . I know my sister would be more at peace if she knew the truth .Thank you so much Cherrie .If you need more information please email me and I can give you my # or hers so she can explain what really happened . we do plan on going to get another autopsy report and see what her daughter took out there was a 50 page write up and her daughter only gave her 7 pages. As much as I feel I need a reading; I feel more than anything that Farrah Abraham from mtvs teen mom really deserves to connect with her daughters father. She’s an amazing mom and deserves to hear it from him. Praying for you and your loved ones always. Thanks
