Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Your show is amazing! Congrats! You are very blessed. I can only imagine how crazy and overwhelming your schedule must be, especially now after releasing your show, but I have all the faith that I could hear from you sooner or later. I’m interested in setting up a group party, if not a personal meeting. October 16th, 2009 I lost my aunt in a tragic car accident without any logical reasoning or explanation as to how it happened. My aunt was a re-born Christian who was at her peak of changing peoples lives. I happened to be her biggest fan and a living testimony of her many little miracles. I’ve also witnessed the many miracles that she experienced herself as a cancer survivor, as an alcoholic, as a widow, single mother, etc. We lost her unexpectedly and my family and I haven’t been the same since. I would give ANYTHING to reconnect with my aunt; to know that she’s okay, to know exactly what happened (which I doubt we’ll ever know), for her to remind me of the faith she helped me build-which I’ve lost since she’s left us. Our red headed 9 mth old granddaugther died July 7, 2011….the drs. Told my daugther she would never get pregnant, then came an angel…our bodies and souls ache so badly….we need some closure. Ipray she comes to you…..she took her first baby steps that morning and then died that night…nothing worse than having your daugthee call u and scream “she dead mommy”….

It has been 15 years since my sister, cousin/sister in law, and niece passed away and it still feels like it just happened yesterday. My nephew has been living with us since then…he was only 6 months old when she passed. I feel very guilty that she passed and that I am still here. She had always wanted to have a baby and when she finally did she was not able to enjoy him as I know she would have wanted too… I have asked my self many times “why her that she had something to look forward to and not me when I have nothing”.. since the accident I have felt like my sister has been mad at me and it has been eating at me since then. I loved and still love them very much and would love to know they are all ok… and that they did not suffer when it happened. I know you are a very busy person, but when I saw your show it left me in aaawww of the gift that you have and the peace you give to all of the people you have helped. If you happen to have a few minutes to spare I would greately appreciate if you could please let me know that they are all ok… It is something very important for me to know this…that they are OK. HELLO! Just got done watching your show! i must say my mother an i loved it! she was very emotional 5 years ago she lost her 2 brothers who both died very suddenly one month apart from each other shes is in very poor health an im pleading for you to contact me i just want her to have closure to loseing her brothers please contact me she watched your show an was in tears an just kept telling me how she would give anything to just have closure forthe deaths of her 2 best friend her brothers! please help my mom stop grieving
