Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

I can feel that my family that has crossed over has a message for me. I am willing to make an appointment and fly up from Florida for the reading. I believe it is not urgent but it is very important.
I am not sure if this is a method by which to reach Theresa. I have tried calling the phone number but cannot get through. I would like a physical address so I cant send an actual letter to her, so if one could be made available (even a P.O. box) that would be great. In case she is reading these posts. I do have a message for her.
I am a 29 year old recovering Heroin addict and have lost practically everyone I know due to one reason or another. I do not believe in a god or an after-life; I always assumed that if there was a way to make contact from beyond the grave, surely my friends would be able to accomplish it. But I dont know if its even possible and I have a disorder that affects my ability to empathasize so I might never know if my lost ones have attempted to be with me after their deaths.
I need to know what is “out there”. I have lived my life believing truly that there is nothing after this. That when you die, the lights go out and everything stops. I have struggled with addiction and many personal issues all my life and would like to know if there truly is an “after-life”. I have been clean for about 4 months and I struggle wondering what is the point. What is the point of everything? Please help me in my recovery and attaining some sort of peace, if thats even possible.

I just watched your show last night for the first time. All I have to say is AMAZING!!! It had brought me soooo many tears. How You don’t break down crying when giving a message is beyond me. After seeing your show I completely know that I am going to try all that I can to some how get a session with you. My grandfather past when I was 12, and well…. Im 21 and still havent gotten over it and still cry when my boyfriend asks me about him. Im looking for some kind of closer. Also my friend from high school was shot and killed by someone while trying to help a friend and Im hoping that some day you can help me by getting in contact of some kind with them.
Please help if you can. My dear friends son was murdered and he needs help. He needs closure. He is stuck and can not move on. I fear he will do something harmful.

Hi Theresa,
I saw your show for the first time and was very moved by how many people you touched. My mother passed away this May of cancer very quickly and I feel like she has been trying to send me signs. I have always been spiritual and I believe there is more too life then the physical world in which we live. I think your show really opens peoples eyes to a bigger picture. You bring comfort and peace to so many aching hearts…it is so nice to see such a beatiful gift shared.

Your show really inspired me! I lost my father when I was 12 years old and now at the age of 27 I still cannot let go. I still find myself praying for God to bring him back. He was my best friend and I sometimes blame myself for him dying even though I know it had nothing to do with me. He lost his battle with cancer in 1997 and I didn’t make it to the hospital in time to say goodbye. I really could use your help in putting closure to this long road of depression. Please Help!
