Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

When I was about 6 years old I came home early from school to a locked house and immediately freaked out and said my mother was dead! My neighbor took me in until my mother came home. About 5 years later, I came home from school and the house was locked and I couldn’t get in. In fact, my mother had committed suicide and had made sure I/we could not gain entrance. Was I somehow predicting my mother’s death?

Help..Something going on, a small figure crawling down a roof across the way, as if a squirrel, but no,it disappeared at end of roof, happens quickly, just moments, I also see dark shadows, like a figure flying past me, off to my left and gone, then another at side door flying past to the left, outside of home when looking out. Had a notice on stove clock 911 b4 this happened, this lets me know something or someone is going to die. I have recieved these messages in the form of stove clock, from my Father, he warns me, but I can’t put 2 and 2 together till to late, but the dark figures are a bad sign, I have seen them B4 and death is near. OMG. Brother died in Oct. of 2011, car hit him and head crashed into windshield, lucid after, but passed out and never came too, a sad ending for him, and this happened in NJ. But wait…….. His GF dropped dead 2 wks prior and he found her in the bathroom. There is no closure, did my brother make his death happen and ride on his bike into a car to harm himself? I only wish my medium within me, which we all have, could guide me to the truth. The dark figures I see are no joke, they are angels with black wings, or figures, to claim . I need answers. Theresa,I wish I could channel you, but i only get numeric messages, from my Dad and sometimes coins when light hearted.Something is flyig around me in shawdows, I ask, what now/
My great grandmother passed a couple years ago, she was like my second mother. I wanted her to know we miss her everyday and I wanted to know If she was okay and happy. My grandfather also passed when I was 2 and I don’t remember him I wanted to see If there was some memory that would be unlocked. I miss his memory ans hate how I don’t remember him. Hi Theresa,My name is April I lost my stepdad unexpectedly in 2007 while we were on a cruise in the Bahamas he passed while snorkling to some health issue neither the coroner in the Bahamas or the coroner here in my hometown have an explanation on how he died. Was wondering if you could come to Cherry Hill, NJ for a gallery reading for a small group of mothers who have tragically lost their children and teenagers. Some of these mothers have gotten sick (guilt from a teenager’s suicide), some are angry (teenager killed by drunk driver), some drink to numb the pain (teenager died of drug overdose).
