What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

This has got to be one of the lamist broadicasting ideas.what they should do is buy one those week far from reality/reality networks, and increase the types of motor sports. But I know your scared of the likes of espn, cnbc etc.regis in great but he can’t help.sports center got this non motor type sports reporting on lock.and soon you will lose the likes of nascar.mark my words.

Bring Speed back!! I don’t like this change. It was the only car channel I had. My son and enjoyed watching pass time, gears, and American trucker! Gone!! Makes no sense. We already got a bunch of ball sport channels! K`Mon!!

I think that this is the worst thing to happen to all Dish and cable watchers…..It was the only true racing channel and now you’ve thrown all the other crap at us that is carried on other channels….My husband and I are very mad at this and now we have to hunt and find anything that we watched before…Why the heck did you change this and can it be reversed???? You really blew it this time as not everyone wants to see all the ball coverage…

FS1 sucks.. bring back Speed TV Shows.. after watching FS1 for a few day.. I find myself flipping the channel looking for more Car show.. Maybe Velocity, Spike and other channels will pickup what FS1 is dropping !

No notice of this change to begin with (no surprise from Cox on this front). I’m still pissed off about it. They say that the programming will be largely the same. I looked ahead for a week, not one motorsport event. Fox screwed this up big time!! They are loosing my support on many fronts. I hope Velocity steps in to fill the race voids.
