What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

Agree with ALL the comments previously published….really really a foolish move..SPEED channel had a good mixed variety of auto sports….many of us have NO interest in football, baseball, wrestling, etc….Do many of us a favor, put SPEED back on as an ALL auto sports network…..You will find the FS1 ratings WILL take a nosedive for this foolish move
What are you guys thinking? I have seen some dumb ass moves, but taking speed channel away is among one of the biggest screw-ups since the SC was moved from a regular TV channel to a pay channel!!!! Not everyone is so interested in sports that they want to have it 7/24 a day.

IT REALLY SUCKS THAT THE SPEED CHANNEL IS GONE. REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE PASS TIME SHOW AND ALL THE NASCAR SHOWS. YOU CAN TAKE FOX1 AND THEIR FOOTBALL AND SOCCER AND SHOVE IT YOU KNOW WHERE.
SO now NASCAR is a 8am to 2pm program, when we’re working – nice. Plan to drop my expanded package also now.

Thanks alot FOX. You took away the only reason I got satilite tv. My daily routine now sucks. I would watch passtime while dinner was cooking unwinding the day. Sure hope folks enjoy the soccer games now that apparently cant even draw a crowd at the stadiums. You honestly think Motorsports folks would enjoy that??? DUMB move. If I wanted all sports network I will turn to ESPN.

Fox has ruined it for all racing enthusiasts. I will be canceling directive tv tomorrow due to the new ridiculous f1. I’m a racer myself my whole family is into racing and the new f 1 caters to nothing but sports fans, baseball football etc. there are already tooany of those channels as it is, but not channel devoted to auto racing. FOX NEWS SUCKS!!!!
I can watch “mainstream” sports on every “regular sports channel and every network to much of the time. Why change the one “motorsports channell to the same ‘ole same ‘ole. Beyond me!!!!!!!
What group of lame-ass executives came up with this idea? FS1 will never be watched in my house. You took a one of a kind channel that catered to all things Motorsports that had been on for years and made some kind of generic sports crap channel. Good riddance.
You guys totally screwed up that channel that actually made me get Directv and Dish in the first place. I would come home from the night shift and would watch speed until I fell asleep. Now I will just go home and fall asleep. I want a motorsports channel because that is what I love. I don’t want to watch sports news. That is on all the time. Hurry up and fix it before its to late.
