What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

I can honestly that the group of guys & gals (17) here in coastal GA will not be watching FS1. It does appeal to us. All around speed; cars, boats, etc are our interest and not all the jibber – jabber about the other stuff!
It was a car channel. Now, Fox is going to make it a sports channel. Bad idea.

Bring back the speed channel. The main reason I watch any t.v. at all is for the speed channel lineup. It is not fair to force more football and other sporting events on those of us who enjoy racing and automotive events.

STUPID idea to get rid of speed channel. My husband and I watched and enjoyed all the race shows every day. You guys are dummies. We hope you lose huge money for changing to Fox sports 1,the no caring channel.Just a bunch of guys trying to be comedians. I’m sure all the other race fans will boycott this channel like we will since it sucks now.

I won’t watch this channel anymore. You have ruined my tv watching day. I watched speed everyday. The race hub, all the nascar shows, nascar now,speed center, now it is not even as good as espn. I will have to watch espn from now on. Thanks dummies, for ruining this channel we paid extra to get.

I am so pissed off! If FOX doesn’t cover AMA Super X & at least some form of boat racing I will boycott all FOX interests! I have limited interest in NASCAR no interest at all in ball sports or people beating on each other!!!! I am self employed and had speed channel on the TV in my shop everyday. I loved Gears, Two Guys Garage, Truck U, My classic Car, Barrett Jackson Auction. Most of all, I will miss Lucas Oil On The Edge, where I could actually see my beloved sport of boat racing on TV!!! Being a boat racing announcer as my hobby, I have a big mouth and direct verbal access to thousands of race fans, all summer long. And again I am VERY PISSED OFF!
I think this Fox Sports 1 sucks. It is built around pro sports not automotive most people view speed for the other shows as well as some NASCAR. I will not watch Fox Sports 1. I paid extra for the speed channel, & enjoyed it very much like most gear heads did. I wouldn’t be surprised if Oboma had some thing to do with this. He screws up the working mans life in every other way. WE want the speed channel back or the answer what happened over night to it with no clue to its veiwers.

Taking away the Speed channel was not a smart move. Fox must be paying big bucks for Dish to replace a very popular channel. I wonder what clueless idiot signed off on this? NASCAR is right up there with football in popularity, so Fox relegates NASCAR coverage to when most fans are at work. This is so stupid it’s painful.

The way I see it is Nascar who screwed up the sport of racing. Have you seen the small crowds at it’s races? We the true fans of racing have been screwed. Alot of people have lost interest in the sport. Too many rules. One minute they say boys have at it and the next they are fining drivers, teams and owners for the minorest things. The rules change weekly. Let teams experiment alittle. Dump the chase. Let the best teams win. A whole season championship. Maybe then there will be a place for a Speed Channel again.
Not a true race fan. That’s no reason to dump Speed and ruin it for the real race fans that liked watching our sport channel.
