What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

Every day I come home I turn on Speed, Now what the F*&$ do us gearheads do. To hell with fox sports. Maybe realize not everyone likes ball sports. F$%^ yall!!! EAT S&^* FOX. Just have to wait for weekends to watch spike TV.

This totally sucks. Now I have to search all over the channels to try and find the gear head car shows I used to watch all the time. I called my cable provider and they didn’t seem to give a s&^t either. Maybe if we all start cancelling our premium services they will think about it.
I cannot believe that a channel attuned to gearheads would just up and leave us in the lurch. While everyone is coming down on FOX, shouldn’t someone be saying something about those in charge of SPEED who could not seem to bring their mind around the idea that there are other forms of gearhead events to cover other than NASCAR? There was not a day of the week when you could go to SPEED and not see NASCAR. What about the autocross events at the Goodguys shows? What about more than 6 episodes of PINKS before they put it back up on the shelf for a year? What about more “My Classic Car” episodes…surely Dennis Gage gathers enough material at the events he goes to that he ought to be able to come up with two episodes per event rather than one? I don’t NEED another sports channel. There is already ESPN and ESPN 2 – infinity plus ABC, CBS, NBC covering sporting events.
I guess if anybody could screw up a great channel fox can jerks I hope the real sportsnetwork ESPN can help.
