What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

I can’t believe this happened!!! The one damn station I enjoy and “poof” its gone!! What higher up corporate weasel make this intelligent decision? Where am I going to get my weekly racing re-cap shows, what about Passtime? Sunday nights will never be the same! Thank you Fox for ruining my cable experience!! Bring back Speed….NOW!!!
I am stunned. What sort of un-American thoughtless group of idiots put this decision through? If I were a NASCAR Driver i would band together and when they threw the green flag we would all drive around the track at 30 mph for the entire race. Please bring back SPEED it was the only reason I pay for the upper tier with my cable company. I will never EVER watch any FOX again even if it means missing something I like.
What a sad day!! With such little time to sit and watch tv, my husband is so disappointed tat the one channel dedicated to motor sports is now gone… Were there not enough channels to find fighting, soccer, and football?

My husband and I were avid Speed watchers and miss the car shows like Pass time, My Classic Car, plus all the other cool shows. The only reason I got extra stations is because of Speed I guess I might as well go back to basic cable. Someone wasn’t thinking about the car people. Bring it back, Please!!!!!!!!!!!
This is typical BS from a bunch of network “brain-y-acks” who could care less about all us Gear Heads out here who want a channel dedicated to our passions! There are more than enough channels for all other sports! I want to personally thank the corporate BONEHEADS who killed off the best car lovers channel that ever existed. This is the same kind of corporate been counting mentality and arrogant decision making that (with a few exceptions)has rendered the American auto industry into putting out me too, uninspiring, cookie cutter cars! This is one of the worst blunders of all. I mean really if I wanted to watch a show the resembles ESPN I would just watch the one that started it. Fox really screwed the pooch on this one. I will be changing my programming if speed is not brought back soon. I only purchase the higher priced programming so that I could watch my car shows like pinks, passtime, car warriors, and gears. There were others as well but that’s just a few. I am shocked that anyone would do this. Why remove such popular programming. I tell u what the ones that sold speed should start a new channel with the shows that we car guys and gear heads love. And show fox sports just how much they screwed up. I am serious about this. How many others are as serious. Want our shows back, boy or fox all together. Don’t watch that network or any affiliates of it for a month or two and see how long they last. There what i am doing. I ain’t watching no fox channels at all till my shows re brought back, period.

I love sports but I also lived the Speed Channel because of the hot rod programming. Are the shows going to be broadcast on other channels or did Fox just kill them?

The best channel on Tv bites the dust, a car channel is that not a sport all around. Speed needed new shows and updated programming like spike has done with hptv and nesn tv has cruse NE. These kind of shows needed to be started and done for local area interests. A cruse show should have been started going to car shows/ car cruses all around the country. Many shows could have been started but anouther corporate blunder.
WTF why would you change to yet another sports channel? Who gives a crap. Who ever made this decision should be fired and save Fox a big salary. Totally stupid. Auto racing is the biggest sport in the country. I liked the car shows. I am not a race fan yet I know what is popular. Soccer and Collage Football are on almost every channel. I will never tune this new channel in.

Seriously…. Bring SPEED Back… if I wanted to watch soccer or boxing or tennis or anything else… cmon.. SPEED was for MOTORSPORTS… bring it back please… this other stuff really sucks. Fox sports does a a good job with other sports…. just put MOTORSPORTS back where it belongs… and keep all the other sports seperate… Hell make a FOX 2 for all the other Sports stuff. Just Pput SPEED back where it belongs!!!! Please?
