What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

I agree with all the other almost 600 people that think that taking away the programs on speed is the worst thing these bone heads thought of. The only channel that had shows for people that like motor sports programming including nascar. Not only was it me that liked all those good gear head type shows and racing shows but so did my wife that’s why we got speed channel we already could watch all the other sports on other channels till we were blue in the face. Those sports are already crammed down our throats on tons of other channels. BRING BACK SPEED!
Guess this means coverage of the Goodwood events, Monterey Historics, and a lot of other programming is gone with soccer and wrestling in their place. Kills me that all of the internet articles just talk about the NASCAR coverage, like that’s the only racing out there. I like NASCAR, but what about these other events? The Daytona 24? Sebring? Me Mans? Motorcycle racing? This sucks. I pay $140 a month to Dish mostly to get Speed, and now this crap. Time to go to the basic channel package. Fox sucks, Dish sucks, they screwed the pooch on this.
I think dropping speed channel was the most stupid thing you could do. There is still a lot of us hot rodders out here that watched speed and don’t a crap about Fox sports. what’s next spike?
speed is the only true channel left for hot rodders. then you change to fox I hate fox I don’t care about the contents of any fox channel. bring back speed what channel is gears on and two guys garage, or my classic car? or any of the loved street car shows that made people support youre networks bring them back or im drooping dish!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was deeply disapointed the ONLY channel I like out of all the channels is lost, I like the car build programs , the tech programs, and all things related that have been dropped, fox not1 really sucks I am considering dropping Verizon and cable all together if its not some big brother in the house program or some lost naked in the woods its something else totally low class,
A agree with all of these responses. Speed was the “only” channel dedicated to racing! Fox 1 is a joke and an insult. This is not what I signed up for.
I paid a premium to get a package that included The Speed channel and I was happy to pay it. Not any more. This is the worst mistake in TV programing I’ve seen made, maybe ever!
You have got to be kidding???? There are so many other channels for football, baseball and whatever other crap sports there are and the only one dedicated to racing you get rid of. what a joke!!!! if I want to watch a bunch of crap ill turn on espn….thanks fox sports…..for nothing!!!
