What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

Do we really need ANOTHER sports channel????? Not that I don’t like sports but there is a huge “Car Guy” audience out here that lost our only channel!!!!! I’m looking for a new provider that considers everybodys interests.
Speed channel was fantastic, gearz,pinks,etc. Now we get just another sports channel, soccer, bunch of guys talking, generic crap Speed was the only all automotive channel. I am interested in the automotive programs and will not be watching a bunch of sports guys gabbing (there is no shortage of sports blab channels).

Fox has always tried to keep up with ESPN
and found out they can’t so they took a good
channel like SPEED & mess it up also. Plus they
have all those loser on also that couldn’t work
for ESPN,NBC, CBS, & ABC. Your not going
to make it.
FS1 sucks! really, who thought of this change. time to drop my cable back to basic. Should just drop it altogether until they get rid of “reality TV” comepletely.
Time to downgrade cable service, the only reason I had the sports tier was for SPEED which is now another glorified soccer channel. good riddance

what a stupid move to get rid of speed. The guy who came up with this idea should be fired. I have gone to it several time to finding junk that that has nothing to do with auto racing.
I have no interest in this new channel. Speed was great for myself and extended family betting on Pass time and winners circle. I am going to reduce my DTV service to basic as that was the Speed channel I needed. new channel is duplication of sports I have no interest in. Channel is junk I agree fire who thought this one up.
FS1 really sucks! If I wanted to watch all the stuff other than what the Speed channel used to offer, I would watch it on all the other sports channels. Auto enthusiasts don’t have a channel anymore thanks to some non-automotive genius! Another reason to quit paying for cable.
You have to find the Velocity channel. There’s not so much racing, but it is the only game out there for auto related stuff. It’s light on motorsports but it’s way better than nothing.
Besides, it seems the networks are picking the major races FS1 doesn’t keep.
Really. There are so many sports channels showing all sports on cable you can swing a cat and find one. He was the only station dedicated to motorsports. We don’t need another espn. Who was the idiot who thought this was a good idea to kill the speed channel. No thanks on the fox1 crap. And they wonder why NASCAR attendance and interest is failing.
Bring back the SPEED Channel.
