What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

My uncle is a die hard gear head on his death bed. All he has is his race cars, and his Speed channel. His ex-wife tortured him for years and took everything else. Now FOX is taking one of the only things that would put a smile on this ol’ guys face. WTF ? How many more gear heads are there sitting in a hospital bed are there wondering the same thing? Speed channel was one of the only thing that guys could turn to and feel validated. FOX might as well send their executives door to door, ask for the man of the house and cut their d**k’s off, and shove a football up thier a**. What a joke.

I am extremely disappointed that I will miss the Rolex races tomorrow! SPEED channel was the only reason I paid for that particular cable package. When will FXS1 start airing ROLEX and Formula 1 racing?
