What happened to SPEED channel? On Aug. 17, SPEED becomes FOX Sports 1 on all major pay-TV providers. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will now air on FS1.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 8am ET, SPEED will become FOX Sports 1, a new national sports network featuring live college football, auto racing, UFC, soccer, news shows and more. In most cases, the FOX Sports 1 channel will be the same channel formerly held by SPEED. Many of the auto racing events previously airing on SPEED will still air on FS1, including the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, practice and qualifying, and complementary programming like NASCAR Live. Select NASCAR Sprint Cup races will come to FS1 beginning in 2015.

WOW….WOW.. Why did they have to change this Speed had a good line up already. there is only one thing left on FS1 which is MotoGP and nascar. but what happened to the rest. this channel is all jacked up now now there is mma and all that crap that doesnt relate to cars and bikes. hope they start showing all the dropped shows on VELOCITY so that can become the best channel like speed was……. FOX YOU JUST F…ED IT UP THANKS.
Why in the world does Fox come along and ruin the main channel (SPEED) for gearheads and car lovers?

I am a car guy and really dont like what fox has done. Speed was a great channel and getting better all the time. I will now boycott all fox sports and hope more people will do the same. this should put a message out there for some one to create a new channel to replace speed and F/U fox! Trust me they know how many people watch each program that is shown and we can make them notice if no one watches. So come on motor heads pop the clutch do a burn out and run over the mighty fox
I’m not sure what you used as a market survey, if it is Nielsen, I have never met a single person that is monitored by them, but I believe you are setting yourself up for failure. It is always great to say we are going to take on the King but look at the viewers you already lost. The racing is only a small portion of what we watched. We really liked the gear head shows as well.
I agree with many on the disappointment in your decision to replace Speed Channel. Where has all the good shows’ gone, Gearz, Pass Time, hot rod shows, My Classic Car, etc? We really didn’t need another sports’ channel..!! I doubt I watch very much on Fox Sport 1. It’s just a repeat of what I can get on all of the ESPN channel. Bad decision folks. 🙁
IDIOTS! Can’t believe you changed the speed channel. Where are all of our shows???? We don’t want to see another sports channel! we want our SPEED back! Must be money is more important than the fans….so are you going to do away with the MLB channel, the NFL channel and the golf channel designated to one sport? No, your are going to have multiple channels covering the same stuff. IDIOTS!

I can’t believe the speed channel is gone, first it was formula1 now speed channel in general. In years to come it will become just another sports channel. What about the GT races and SCCA races, the rally races and Rolex and moto. Our automotive channel is gone forever

WTF!!! How many sports channels do you need? You got Football, baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, hockey, I love NASCAR, but that was not the only reason I enjoyed SPEED. I watched SPEED because of all the other shows like GearZ, My Classic Car, Pinks, Pass Time, Hot Rod TV, etc. All you TV executive care about is $$$$. Where did all these shows go? Because I want my SPEED back!!!! To Hell with FS1.
I started watching “Speedvision” when my Saturday morning car shows were dropped by TNN. I have been a viewer ever since. After dinner I would check “Speed” shows first and go to other stations only if “Speed” didn’t have a something I liked. “Speed” would often be on all weekend, day and night, in our house.
I am not fond of the FOX affiliate locally, so we don’t watch any other FOX stations.
It’s been obvious that FOX has let the programming on “Speed” suffer while other networks like DISCOVERY are offering more and more. I’m going to miss the programming on “Speed”, but most of all “Barrett-Jackson”. The network that picks up the shows FOX dropped from Speed will earn my viewing. What FOX has retained for FOX 1 dosen’t cut it. Done with FOX.
I was a little optimistic about the debut of FOX Sport 1. I was able to watch a couple of hours last night to see the hype. The UFC was ok, but I’m not a huge fan of it. When the sports show after the UFC fight came on it went down hill. It reminded me of The Best Damn Sports Show Period. There’s a reason that show flopped. If I wanted to see people sit around and give their opinion on sports I would watch more ESPN.
I hope gears will be on this channel and truck u and others like that. If not I will be forced to rethink my package with direct tv.

my husband learned alot bout cars on the speed channel n watched many years…. one of the reasons why i love him is bc he not a sports freak… instead hes a gearhead. really dissapointed fox took an educational off the air replaced with another sports channel

Holy Crap FOX. You own so many channels, why would you change the one most men in America watch? We watch SPEED to see SPEED stuff, IE Cars, Trucks, Racing, and great shows, pass time, Gearz, two guys garage, my classic car ECT. Change your FOX SPORTS channel to Testosterone Junkie and we can change to that the channel if we want to watch MMA maybe you should put a cooking show on you FOX MOVIE network, or another DUMBASS REALITY show on you FOX NEWS Station, because Americans seem to be hooked on that garbage. Give us back our channel !!!!!
