What happened to Style network? Jerseylicious? Tia & Tamera?

“What happened to Style network?” will be the question of the evening when Esquire Network officially takes over the the 15-year-old network on Monday, Sept. 23 at 9pm ET with the premiere of Esquire’s 80th. Still in question is whether new episodes of Giuliana & Bill, Jerseylicious, Big Rich Texas and Tia & Tamera will find a home on any of NBCU’s other networks. Some of the shows are expected to simply end their run, while a few will most likely be worked into schedules on E!, Bravo or Oxygen.

UPDATE: Style Network TV to relaunch in Fall 2014! See feature.

What happened to Style Network and Giuliana and Bill?E! did confirm plans of airing the most recent seasons of Giuliana & Bill and Tia & Tamera starting in October. E! will begin re-airing Season 3 episodes of Tia & Tamera and already aired episodes of Giuliana & Bill’s sixth season on Tuesday nights starting Oct. 15 at 9pm ET, as well as new episodes of Giuliana & Bill next year. Season 3 of Tia & Tamera actually ended on Style Sunday, Sept. 22, and it’s unknown whether the series will see a fourth season. Oxygen will also be airing a 10-episode marathon of Season 3 of Tia & Tamera beginning Thursday, Sept. 26 at noon ET.

Syndicated series on Style, like Sex and the City, which originally ran on weekends, are interspersed heavily throughout the Esquire schedule, helping fill early morning, late-night and weekend time slots for the new net. Sex and the City, however, is littered all over the NBCU nets — you can catch it on E!, Oxygen and Bravo.

Clean House, which aired for nine seasons on Style, will also show up on Esquire — at least for the first week — filling the Wednesday, Sept. 25 morning block from 6am to 3pm ET.

At launch, Esquire had several original series including Knife Fight, Brew Dogs, Boundless and The Getaway. Similar to Style, Esquire will also help fill its programming schedule with blockbuster movies. The first few weeks, viewers of Esquire can expect titles like Ocean’s Thirteen, Casino Royale, Ghost Rider and Stripes, as well as popular series from Bravo like Million Dollar Listing, Chef Roble and Top Chef, and USA Network series like Psych and Burn Notice.

We will update you with further details on other former Style series as they are announced.

  1. I agree with everything stated. Esquire network is horrible and the decision to change from Style was really stupid. I hope it tanks and the people who made this decision are totally humiliated. No warning and only to replace it with incredibly stupid shows. Really really dumb move. You just lost a HUGE audience.

  2. Not only did they remove Style Channel but the one they said the new channel would be replacing too! I want Style and G4 both back!

  3. So you think you can replace a popular women’s channel that focuses on Style & original programming w/ yet ANOTHER “guy”channel & you think to yourself- you gals will get used to it- think again. The line up looks stupid to me & I’m sure other women (& a few men). Nothing on that channel will ever pull me in. How insulting to have to pay for a product that is completely opposite of what has been successful & popular for so long. You decided my feelings don’t matter; so I’m gone

  4. I want my style network back! Where are my shows? The Style was the first channel I went to after a long day at work. I will not be watching this new network – nothing on it that interest me.

  5. I am so highly upset at this change. It would’ve made more sense for them to replace a channel with the same type of programming, rather than take away our Jerseylicious, Big Rich Texas, Resale Royalty, etc. I can only hope that they will pick up some of their higher-rated shows on other networks. Or better yet, just bring the damn Style network back. I hate to bitch, but I am not a happy camper.

  6. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! This is what Style channel will now be? What a bunch of crap!! Reruns over and over again of Sex and The City? C’mon people, where are the Shows that where on Style? GandB, Hot Listings Miami, taken off right when it’s getting really good. Are you listening Bravo and E Channel? Hopefully you will scoop these shows up. Then Esquire can fail and no one will care.

  7. This is not right! The esquire channel is HORRIBLE. I watched almost everything on Style. I just loved the style network. Esquire sucks!!!

  8. Who wants to see knives and beer all night? Style had entertaining programming. Tia and Tamera, Jerseylicious. Bring back style.

  9. This is rediculous! Style is one of my favorite networks and we had no warning that this was going to happen! Here we are thinking we would continue to see our favorite programs only to find another mens channel. This was verry poorly handled!!!

  10. I can’t believe you took Style away before we were able watch our favorite shows season finales. I watch four different shows on this Network!!! Esquire Channel sucks! My husband just laughed. WTF!!!! Bring Style Network back!!!!!!!

  11. This just sucks! Who in the hell wants to sit and watch knives and dogs all day?? Seriously?? Who the hell came up with this idea to buy the Style Network and turn it to this bunch of crap? What the hell???

  12. Get rid of Esquire!…Wew don’t need any more men’s channels and violent programs. This is a station I will never watch. Bring back Style network with the usual programming on their channel.

  13. How disappointing it is to sit down after a long day at work to decompress only to find one of my favorite channels gone! Why? Cable tv is so expensive so why can’t we have a say in what stays and goes? I will not be watching esquire. Thanks for nothing!!!

  14. Can’t believe that you will not air any of Giuliana and Bill. Thanks for letting people know the program would be ending. We will not watch Esquire station and who wants to see OLD PROGRAMS OF SEX AND THE CITY…COME ON….

  15. I will miss the style channel and I am very unhappy to see it go. I know my husband will never what this channel. Football and cars is what my husband likes.

  16. For the people complaining about another “men’s” channel … you are on the wrong track . This is about boneheaded entertainment execs making short sighted decisions … not a battle of the sexes . I am a man ( a REAL man … not some metro-sexual Esquire imitation ) . I guarantee that I am NO WHERE near whatever near the target demographic was supposed to be for the Style or Esquire channel

I ended up here because I happened to like a show on Style (Hot listing Miami ) and wondered what had happened to the channel . I was actually ready to blame my cable company LOL

Anyway … rest assured a variety of people (men AND women … urban AND rural ) have reason to complain about the way the networks are run . 500 channels and nothing to watch applies to us all to some extent .

As so amply illustrated by the rude way Style was abruptly yanked off the air … if you DO find something … anything … you are interested in watching … it will probably be gone … moved … or cancelled next week …. no consideration or meaningful explanation given . Afterwards the “industry insiders” will huddle up at some Las Vegas conference and decide the Internet is to blame taking away viewers .

  17. WTH???? Ur replacing the STYLE network with crappy shows & old movies. Seriously, how many channels can u watch Sex & the City on?? !!!!! Ur ratings will b poor with Esquire, like any man is gonna watch that instead of sports!! So pissed! Oh, & thank u very much for letting us know ahead of time!! :O. It must have been a man’s idea!!
