Currently, the word is that History will be airing shows (including Ancient Aliens, The Universe and Modern Marvels) that previously were on H2.

I read an article where A&E said part of the reason is the H2 program lineup had diverged from actual history and was mostly reruns whereas VICE is fresh. Well, who first trashed History Channel turning it into Reality TV AKA Pawn Stars/American Pickers, then slowly replaced most of the actual historical documentaries moved to History International with the current lineup? Was it an Alien Conspiracy?
These people are clueless. They can’t keep one fact-based documentary channel up and running. Everything HAS to be geared to the low IQ, short attention span crowd. Now we have VICE, and boy does that channel cater to that audience!
Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of some of the programming that found its way onto H2, but it’s far, FAR superior to that on VICE! VICE is geared towards the LGBT and metrosexual male crowd. They should have simply started their own channel and lobbied cable companies to carry it, not cajole A&E to substitute it for an existing channel. Shame on VICE and double shame on A&E.
I fervently hope this endeavor falls flat on its face and everyone associated with it, and especially those executives at A&E, are run out of the business for gross incompetence.
It’s so depressing. I pay an exorbitant amount of money and most of the channels I really liked have turned into freak shows. Gone are the days where DISC, TLC, HIST had anything worth watching. Even Science Channel is falling far from it’s original content and Military channel has been neutered too and is now AHC.
There’s so much trash reality TV freak shows out there. Can’t we have at least a few channels that won’t turn our brains into lime jello? Perhaps the Surgeon General can mandate a warning or disclaimer that pops up after coming back from commercial breaks…

Viceland is a terrible channel. The titles are obsene. Bring back H2. We pay too much for

Why would you take away educational programs that the whole family can watch and learn, and replace it with…. “Hey honey,kids F**k that’s delicious and Balls deep” is on oh boy education at its best. You suck and the station sucks!!!
I might just go back to OTA and use Amazon & Netfix to fill in the blanks! I would rather watch reruns of most H2 Programs than the crap on Viceland… SAD!

What a STUPID move direct tv. H2 was one of favorite channels. Your Viceland will also be blocked on our Tv’s, just a bunch of dumb stupid shows, with some REAL nice names, GAYcation, BALLS DEEP wow that took your Tv Network a loooong time to pick those names. And your winning name like F… Something. Real stuff and names to have on TV. OH I FORGOT the dope show. We miss H2 channel and in about 10 months when contract runs out we will probably be looking else where for our Tv provider.

Wow I’ve tried to watch vice land tv and what a load crap , a total waste , and I may be thier target viewers , but it’s a waste of time and space , sad really . Granted h2 did dumb things down but most of this is crap on vice land .

Ok so this new programming SUCKS!!!!. H2 was the only channel that did not run shows with nothing but drama crap.
Now as “viceland” they glorify and insight the angry younger generation.
I say Blowup (not literally) their emails (the above contacts are what I found) and demand H2 back.
Maybe even consider getting rid of cable and going to nothing but netflix, hulu and the such. Let your provider know they need to drop this new claptrap channel.
I’ve scrolled through 3days of the hist. channel programming and non of the show’s, from H2, that I like are going to be showing.

Bring back h2. The crap on viceland is not worth watching on any channel. Already blocked in my guide. Whoever made the choice should have to sit and watch viceland all day!
My preteen children and I enjoyed watching H2. We finally got our fill of Pickers, Axmen, Pawn Stars and the Swamp Dudes. H2 was one of the few channels that provided fairly enjoyable and educational family viewing. There is probably a audience for Viceland but it will be blocked in our home…example…”F…That’sDelicious, Balls Deep,Gaynation, Flophouse and the show on dope”.I am no certainty no prude. I have watched several, and found some interesting subject matter. But the majority of the programming is not suitable for my my preteen children. And the rest of the programming is simply not that interesting to this 50 year old. I outgrew most of my vices. No reason to watch programs on them.
Thanks for taking away one of three watchable channels on tv and replacing it with crap programming that tries too hard to be groundbreaking or whatever. So much hype for such diminishing returns. Bring back H2.

I couldn’t agree more! I am irate over this channel change. Viceland has absolutely nothing I am interested in. Perhaps you could offer Biography or Military History to Verizon (to become Frontier next month)–I would probably be able to find something to watch.
Whoever made such a stupid decision sort of forgot the fact that H2 viewers were the ones with buying power for their advertisers. Trash tv watchers are mainly poor trash just like the tv they watch. Stupid is as stupid does. And this change is beyond stupid.
