Woo hoo! TV’s longest-running marathon gets underway Aug. 21 on FXX, which will air every episode of The Simpsons — 552 episodes, 25 seasons — back-to-back in order over the next 12 days. FXX will also air The Simpsons Movie on Aug. 29. Thank you! Come again!   You’ll need a wheelbarrow full of tacos to provide adequate sustenance for this marathon. Amazon Original’s first forays into original programming, shows like Alpha House and Betas, have been met with critical acclaim. Earlier this summer, Amazon Studios released two preschool-targeted-animated series, Tumble Leaf and Creative Galaxy. On Friday, July 25, the streaming service is releasing latest release, the live-action adventure, Annedroids. The series comes from Emmy nominated producer JJ Johnson (Dino Dan) and is aimed at children ages four through seven. Proving again that the good people at LEGO have established a marketing department within my brain, FOX’s Sunday, May 4 (8pm ET/PT), episode of The Simpsons will have a special LEGO-themed show. Conveniently, it’s also timed to the launch of a Simpsons line of LEGO minifigure and building sets. In “Brick Like Me,” Homer wakes up in a world where his family and everyone in Springfield are made of LEGO in the series’ milestone 550th episode. Still enjoying re-airs of The Boondocks on Saturday nights, I had been wondering if the animated series was still in production, and according to a release today from Adult Swim, it is. The fourth and final season of The Boondocks will begin April 21 at 10:30pm ET/PT. However, this season is going to be produced without the involvement of Aaron McGruder — who created the series and the original comic strip on which it is based.
