Here are a few things I learned from watching last night’s Golden Globes ceremony (many of them were things I didn’t know that I didn’t know, which is always a bonus): 1) Jodie Foster is retiring! Spielberg, Day-Lewis, Washington … Quvenzhané? The nominations for the 85th Academy Awards, which were announced Thursday morning in Hollywood, contained some longtime favorites, as well as some surprising newcomers. Director Steven Spielberg’s towering Lincoln nabbed the most nominations with 12, followed closely by Ang Lee’s adaptation of Life of Pi with 11. The rest of the Best Picture field includes expected titles like Argo, Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty, but also some shocking party crashers like the indie fantasy Beasts of the Southern Wild and director Michael Haneke’s punishing drama Amour. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler host Golden Globes 2013 in the annual ceremony presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Move over, Ricky Gervais. Make way for Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Tina Fey set social media all abuzz when she hilariously videobombed Amy Poehler (video above) at the 2012 Golden Globes. Poehler swapped Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ acceptance speech for hers at last year’s Emmys (video below), and spoofed beauty pageants at the Emmys the year before (video way below). The 2012 Miss Universe competition — the 61st annual event — airs live 8-10pm ET Dec. 19 from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Theatre for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, and both NBC and Telemundo will be on hand with live broadcasts of the pageant, which will be seen in approximately 190 countries and is expected to have more than 1 billion viewers worldwide tune in. Abraham Lincoln’s fortune at the theater appears to be taking a turn for the better, because the Steven Spielberg-directed biography bearing his name was nominated this morning for seven Golden Globes. The Hub lets fans pick the “Naughty or Nice Awards”

The Hub is getting in on the awards season by launching its first-ever “Naughty or Nice Awards,” which will allow fans to pick their favorite moments from the network’s 2012 programming. Voting opens Saturday and runs through Dec. 16. The winners will be announced Dec. 22, and featured from noon-2pm ET in a two-hour marathon of episodes from their shows.
