Interview: Josh Hartnett on Showtime’s “Penny Dreadful”

An overall sense of mystery has pervaded Showtime’s new psychological horror series Penny Dreadful, premiering Sunday, and that is probably fitting. The eight-episode Victorian-era series is set in 1891 London and focuses on some of the scariest characters in literature, including Dracula, Dorian Gray, and Dr. Frankenstein and his creature. Bringing the gruesomeness and horror to life is an eclectic cast that includes Josh Hartnett, Eva Green and Timothy Dalton. The show is created, written and executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (Hugo, Gladiator), and also executive produced by Sam Mendes (Skyfall). “As the show sort of settles […]

No moms. No Abby. No such luck. • RELATED: Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller on Dancing with the Stars May 5 We’re doing this several kids at […]

Interview with Brett Dalton of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Part 2

We recently had an engaging conversation with Brett Dalton from Marvel’s  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Tuesdays at 8pm ET on ABC) who discussed everything from his love for comic books to where the series is headed. Here’s part 2 of our Q&A with Dalton who plays Agent Grant Ward. With the exception of Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson, who appeared in several Marvel films, most of your show’s core characters were created specifically for the TV show. Has it been liberating to help create new personalities and stories, as opposed to adapting or continuing the legacies of characters that fans had already […]

New True Tori Tonight. And Tori Cheated On Hubby #1. Surprised?

Just as I guessed after last week’s juicy True Tori tease…this week’s episode reveals that Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott cheated on their previous souses with each other! Given that Tori and Dean married each other a few weeks after Tori’s divorce to hubby #1 was finalized, it seemed pretty obvious that there was some marital infidelity involved. If Dean (and Tori) has already been shown to be a cheater, is it any surprise that there’d be cheating again? Once you’re okay with flexible fidelity, don’t be surprised when the same flexibility is leveraged against you. Lifetime has shared a […]

VOD Spotlight: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

As director of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Ben Stiller (who also stars in the title role) wanted to keep everything as realistic as possible, even when filming Walter’s fantasy life. This led to shooting in locations as varied as New York City and Iceland. In New York, Stiller chose to shoot the epic chase between Walter and Ted in the live-wire dynamics of a typical crowded day in the city. To simulate Walter and Ted flying and bounding through Manhattan on makeshift skates and skis, Stiller and costar Adam Scott were placed in a mobile rig that suspended […]
