2011 PGA Championship TV schedule

Golf’s best head to Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga., for the year’s final major beginning Thursday, Aug. 11. Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy, Steve Stricker, Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell are among the contenders to take home the Wanamaker trophy and end the season on a high note. Kaymer (pictured) won last year’s tournament in a playoff against Bubba Watson, but the big story was Dustin Johnson grounding his club in a bunker (or was it?) that cost him a two-stroke penalty and a spot in the playoff. TNT and CBS share coverage of this year’s […]

How Does It End?: “Men of a Certain Age”

By Tom Comi Follow @ChannelGuide Are you fed up with your favorite shows being canceled without notice? Tired of having no closure with the characters or storylines? Frustrated that you have no recourse whatsoever in the decision? Welcome to the club! Tired of sitting idly by, we here at Channel Guide Magazine have decided to start a new blog segment called “How Does It End?” The idea here is to provide our own closure by writing the endings we wanted to see before the networks prematurely pulled the plug on our favorite programs. With that in mind, here is my […]

TNT To Air Sneak Preview Of New “Dallas” Remake

Follow @ChannelGuide By Barb Oates It’s been talked about for years, but TNT is officially pulling the trigger and has greenlit a “Dallas” remake that they will preview to audiences this Monday during the season premieres of “The Closer,” which starts at 9pm ET/PT, and during “Rizzoli & Isles” at 10pm. The famed 1980s primetime soap dominated ratings for 13 seasons as the series followed the bitter rivalries and family power struggles within a Texas oil and cattle-ranching dynasty in Texas. The remake picks up with the Ewing offspring and stars Josh Henderson (90210) as J.R.’s son John Ross, Jesse […]

Moon Bloodgood talks “Falling Skies”

If the only information you had about Falling Skies was the cast list, you might be surprised to find out who is playing the doctor and who is the gun-wielding freedom fighter. Noah Wyle? Gotta be the doctor, right? He logged a decade or so on ER, plus he’s generally not seen as an action hero. Moon Bloodgood? Well, she’s often played “tough chick” roles in movies like Terminator Salvation that match her ridiculously badass name. But the makers of Falling Skies, TNT’s epic new alien-invasion saga that debuts Sunday, went a different way, casting Wyle as Tom Mason, a […]

“Franklin & Bash” lowers the bar

By Tom Comi Follow @ChannelGuide I wanted so much to like the new TNT legal drama Franklin & Bash, but there are only two words that come to mind after managing to sit through the first episode last week: I object! Truth be told, there really is nothing redeeming about this show (tonight at 9pm ET), and it really does pain me to say that. I was a big fan of Mark-Paul Gosselaar on Saved By the Bell, NYPD Blue and Raising the Bar, and I love shows that explore the law; so I had high expectations when I heard […]

By Lori Acken Follow @ChannelGuide Grifters, your wait is almost over. The fourth season of Leverage, TNT’s hit caper series starring Timothy Hutton as a former insurance investigator turned con man who heads up a team of fellow flimflammers who use their questionable skills for modern-day-Robin-Hood good begins Sunday, June 26. In their fourth go-round, the gang will finally face the music for some of their past cons in addition to tackling new corporate evils and other bigwig baddies. If you’re already a devoted con fan, you know that the series now boasts its own official convention known as Con-Con, […]

Cast shines in “Men of a Certain Age”

By Tom Comi You really have to hand it to Ray Romano. While many comedians with a hit sitcom under their belt would greedily attempt to recapture that magic, the former Everybody Loves Raymond star knew better. Instead of jumping at any chance to do another sitcom when Raymond went off the air in 2005, Romano waited patiently for the right project. And even he had to be shocked when he realized that right project was a one-hour scripted drama about three men experiencing the wrong side of middle-age. Aptly named Men of a Certain Age (a new season premieres […]
