Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

God Bless you! I still am having a hard time and always think about what happenned the night my son committed suicide. Was he hearing voices that told him to or did he want to do it to get out of the nightmare, he was in. I miss him every day still!

Hello Theresa, I am trying to win a reading with you. I live in Los Angeles. Recently my cousin and her fiance were brutally murdered. She was young. I was close with her. Her story was plastered all over the news. Her body and her fiances body was fond decomposed in a trash can. You can google the story by typing in “Brent Zubeck”-he IS the murderer. I really need to meet with you as I have lost so many people at such a young age. I watch your show faithfully. Your gift is precious and every time you read someone you help them in ways no one else can. They leave your readings revived knowing that your gift has taken on new meaning and a relief in their lives.

hi I am wondering how my mom is doing since she passed about 7 or so years ago. she died from psorosis of the liver. I feel like I was a horrible daughter and I have a lot of guilt. I love her more than anything only wish that I could take back so many things that I did. anything that you could help me with would be greatly appreciated probably life changing.

Theresa, I need to know how to get on the waiting list… I am desperate for answers as to why I was never told by my mom or dad that my dad wasnt her real dad. She is so upset that she never got to meet him.. She knew in her heart that she wasnt my dads but it was always hidden… We have heard many different stories an nothing panned out but I am having several ideas. She wants answers so bad.. We need your help.. They went to their graves without telling us… So unfair ..I really need to know why.

Will Theresa ever even see these? That is the question. I was a true skeptic, now I watch the show faithfully and would spend any amount of money for a group reading. I really enjoy your show. I had to laugh when I heard you call your dog “mommy”. I do the same thing with my two dogs and I also call them mommy. I really think that is an Italian thing because my mom would do the same thing except she would call all us kids mommy. Just watched this weeks show. I tried sending this once but if u dont get thay one here it is again. Cook 2lbs ground beef drain fat, stir in 2 packs French’s Chili O seasoning stir in 2 large cans each of ground tomatoes and red kidney beans. Simmer several hours. Dispose of containers and claim as your own receipe. LOL. They will love it.
