Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

hey there teresa, names joe iv been watching your show here and there and it seems to me that i can believe your pretty good at what your doing and helping people, the reason im messaging you is that im a family of 8 and not saying my mom is holding back any regrets and ponders on the past but i feel that it would be pretty awesome if my mother can connect with my baby sister that has passed on a few years ago. she was diagnosed with chromosome 13 and it was pretty tough for her but she got threw it and started up a business called Sara Elisabeth center, witch revolves around people like my sister witch is special needs and my family is pretty involved helping out by playing music and helping with the kids, and playing at different kinds of school since there very musically talented…but what im trying to say is that my mom did alot for us, raising 8 kinds and dealing with a child passing to the other side, so just feel it would be a great gift for her to connect with my baby sister, i know you got 38946274 people asking the same from you but when you got your hands less full then give me a shout back… no rush, help the ones most needed 😉
I have my mom who is 83 years old. My grandmother died in 1983 at 90 years old. My mom has never gotten over her death.My moms dad died when she was young so it was always the 2 of them together. My grandmother died in my arms during a tia attack. She told me if she could ever help us she would try. If she contacts you we would be so greatful especially for my mom.My grandmother was a special lady and was loved and remembered by all.

Hi teresa, I live in grayling Mi. I writing because I believe my mom could really use your help , she cared for my grandma right up till she passed away alot of sleepless nights, going to feed her every meal to assure she ate ,and just being by her bed side, when she passed her sister told her it was all her fault my grandma died. My Mom also has cared for her brother that had down syndrome every since she was fourteen, quit school to teach him everything she knew. In the past year my mom has lost three brothers two of which had cancer and my uncle ted with down syndrome.Shes sad and so lonely, i think she needs to hear from her mom to tell her how proud she is of all she has done her whole life .please help her!!!

Hi Theresa, my name is Elsa and I am desperate to find some help to my husband, he is been suffering for a long time , his family has been through a lot in the past years, my father in law pass away over a year ago and the situation is getting worse since this year my brother in law pass away too……I don’t know what else to do to make him feel better, he is really bad depressed, he just talk about how he just want to be dead, he doesn’t show any enthusiasm to do anything, he become to be a totally different person than he was, he is sad and angry most of the time, we have 2 kids and the worst part is that the had to deal with the situation even if my husband try his best ….A friend of us told us about your TV show and I found a new hope in our lives….I just feel that part of all of this is that my husband needs some kind of relief and closure about his lost. My name is nicole jewell I am 22 years old, I have never atempted contacting a medium before but i saw your show and I figure I would take a shot in the dark by asking for your help. My mothers older brother shot him self. The night before he came in to my granmothers house an try’d to wake my mother to talk to her. She told me they used to talk all the time at night but she just got out of work and was tired and asked him if they could just talk in the morning and he told her ok I said “love you sis” and walked out of the room. Later that night they heard the gun go off. She has been trying for years to figure out if it was an accident or not. she thinks everyday if it would have been different if she had just got up and talked to him. It bugs her till this day that dhe dose not know what he wanted to talk anout. It hurts me to see her look at his picture and cry. If there is anyway you could possibly maybe give me some kind of answers. I only wish for some kind of closure for my mother. I am not expecting anything like I said i am just taken a shot in the dark.

Hello Theresa. My grandmother passed away 4 years ago and she was like a mother to me. It was has been a tremendous loss to our family. I felt as though she was the glue that held us all together. I just had a son 4 months ago and I just wanted to know if my grandmother is ok and if she knows about my son. We miss her tremendously and sometimes I don’t know what to do without her.
