Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

This morning a local student in my town was found dead. He went missing this passed monday. The whole community has put so much effort into finding him. His name is Bryan Glenn. I think it would be greatly appreciated if Theresa did a reading for the Glenn family.

my husband brother passed away in 2003 from cancer they had a bad time when they where young with their stepfather was so mean to the boys bradley and ricky had too grow up fast their daddy die when ricky was 8 yrs olds from a gunshot to the head . my husband has been down ever sents bradley die it would be nice if you could a lest call him for a reading

Hi my name is ashley an I live in stillwater Oklahoma my girlfriend plays basketball for Osu here in stillwater it is her senior year an last year her coaches died in a plane crash after coming back from seeing a recruit after this accident she has been very depressed an unhappy an she is just missing something from them as well as her whole team they aren as a unit as they were before as when there coaches were there and I think to hear from them would help them in a huge way to where they are a team again if you could help her an her team it may help them if you find time to see her and them I would really appreciate it thank you

my mother passed away unexpectedly in January she was admitted to the hospital for severe back pain they stated she had a virus in her heart,she was there 3 days treated and supposed to come home at Noon on a monday. I spoke to her at 9:30 am that monday and she was laughing and excited to be going home she said she even took a walk down the corridor and waved to other patients. I got a call at 10:45 from the hospital stating my mother wasn’t doing well what do you mean i just talked to her she was fine! It turns out so they say she accidentally fell and was on the floor in her room for approx 30 minutes before somebody found her when i got there she was on a breathing machine and her brain had lost so much air she would never be right again. She passed not shortly after. I am thankful i was there even tho her eyes were fixated i still think she knew i was there for her.I need to know WHAT happened,how did she fall, was she in pain did she know i was there??? Help me theresa i need closure.

Hi Thersa i am one of 4 sisters that lost our mother a year ago today and we miss her so much, she was the glue that held us all together. My older sister and i talk almost everyday and she has taken it the hardest. She was with mom when she passed and felt her presence go through her at the passing. Hello Theresa. I would like your help for not only me but for my two adult sons. On May 11 1998 my husband, their father passed away very suddenly. He had had a couple of stents put in weeks before. He woke up not feeling well. He said “babe I dn’t feel good” I called who Dr. who suggsted we take hi to th hospital. He did not make it into the car. He collapsed on the driveway with my younger son holding him up. The iranic thing is that Bitch had a car he loved and cherised. He always said when I die I want to be buried in the HEMI car. Well, he passed away exactly next to the driver door of the car. I love the work you are doing for people to connect family’s that have crossed over. The pain of death changes family’s . It has been overwhelming for me to comfort my young adult children. I have very strong religious beliefs but I also believe that some people have special gifts. In my little family, I have lost my mother, grandmother and my sister.I missed them so much!
I write to you because I grew up without a father and my mother never told me who he could have been. She never talked about him, so I have spent sixty two years trying to forget that I have no father. I have always wanted to know what happen and why she never talked about him. Hi Teresa! My husband and I love your show, we watch it and record it so we dont ever miss it. My mother and I have always believed in and have used physics. In fact, not sure if you knew That the actor, Billy Bob Thornton’s mother is a physic and she and my mother were long time friends. I recently lost my mother, she was 91, we were very close. She was always afraid, (not sure that is the right word) to die and I would love to know that she is happy! She and I have always felt that we both a a kind of sixth sense. I have had dreams of her almost every night since she passed on September 16th of this year. She never speaks in these dreams, they are bad dreams but a little unsettleing I guess cause I dont know what they mean. Would love a reading to help me figure this out and ease my mind.
