Theresa Caputo, the star of TLC’s series Long Island Medium, says she was 28 when she was first introduced to the possibility that she was a medium. It took another five years for her to actually accept her gift.
“There’s a big difference from when I accepted it to who am I?” Caputo told us. She said she struggled with feeling, “I’m no different than anybody else. Why was I chosen to do this? Why is this my journey?”
The aftermath of 9/11 left her with clarity and a feeling of purpose for what she calls her role in the physical world. Now Caputo spends her days and nights taking her clients on an emotional and spiritual journey with the afterlife. She helps people find closure and/or reconnect some with loved ones who have passed.

Her wait time is over two years at this point, due to the popularity of the show.
Surprisingly, Caputo has built her career on word of mouth only and has done little to no marketing. When asked if she’s ready for what a TV series will bring as far as popularity, Caputo says: “Absolutely not. I still think this is like a school project. It’s so not reality yet for me. My life is overwhelming as it is, as of right now, my waiting list to get an appointment is… I don’t have any availability until January 2013.”

Theresa,i lost my son back in april 2oo6. His 17 year old daughter found him hanging,actualy sitting cross-legged indian style. The cornerer ruled it a suicide We all know he didn’t do that, first, we lost my younger son oct of 1989 and it nearly killed me. Kyle would never put me through that again, second, his daughter lived with him and he would never have let her find him like that, third my father had onset dementia and Kyle took care of him and he loved his grandfather more than anyone because he helped raise him. fourth, he had just got a lot of money that very day and that money was never found. He was happier than I had seen in a long time. He was going to the smokey mountains the next day for a short vacation. I have to know what happened to him. Please help me I can’t live my life in any kind of peace without knowing. Ican live without money, or anything else, but I have to know what happened to my child. I will be waiting to hear from you. Please help me my brother passed away June 11, 2012. A couple of days later after he passed i seen i shadow at my door but i could only see it through the crack of the door. I have dreams about him. I had a dream about him that he was dugged up from the grave n we (my mom and me) was looking at his body n his body started moving and i told her his alive. I called his name and he woke in replied why am I in this cased. I told my mom my dream and she said that the reason for the dream is because this weekend makes the last weekend that he was with us. Please help me i had more dream about him i feel like his trying to tell me something.
Hi Theresa. That was my grandmother’s name. She passed away in 1968.We are a large Italian family. She was the single parent of 14 children. She had 30 grandchildren. We all love her & miss her. We still talk about her as if it was yesterday that she was here. She was an amazing woman. She did it all alone.She had enough love in her heart for all of us.I wish that She would give me a sign that she is with me. She raised me also.I still miss her after all of these years.
